I saw the show on this tour in Central Park New York. Absolutely incredible❤ His synchronization with the vibraphone player was impeccable. His staccato work is unparalleled. I consider Al DiMiola one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived.🎉

Filthy song. Ultra drama. Wicked tempos. Killer palm muted technique. The legendary Al Di Meola in his youthful prime. Seeing this live twice changed me forever..

Al Di Meola is such a Virtuoso. Incredible guitar player, writer, group leader, and absolutely one of the first shredders of all time.

I met Robbie Gonzalez in Panama City Beach, Florida in 1974. He was a monster way back then. Then saw him with Al Dimeola aseveral years later in Birmingham, Alabama. GREAT! All of them!

A big part of his trademark sound back then was the Dimarzio super distortion pickup in combination with the stock Gibson pickup in the neck.He always used both pickups at the same time but turned down the neck pickup a hair thats how he got his amazing sound back then and the Marshall amps and cabs of course.

The music is fantastico! but the most amazing thing on stage has got to be Lander’s mop - that thing must’ve taken two days to dry after he washed it.

Shot in the days when keyboard players had to turn and twist knobs, slide levers, flick switches and set the next sound up 8 bars before it happened.

That's exactly right, however in my case, I started the night before.(Ha!) And really, all we had was the extremely heavy Rhodes, Clavinette D6(would die to have one now!), B3, and the d series Minimoog. If you had money, and 5 guys to carry it, along with the "chopped up" B3, the real stringed piano with actual felt and true wooden action. Oh, and that ridiculously complicated monophonic Odyssey. But then things started opening up in the market and now if you drop a ton of money on the latest and greatest, the next day it ain't the latest, but hopefully one of the greats for a while anyway. Thanks for allowing my 2 cents. Or today, due to hard times, I can give a pennys worth.,

Anyone got a time machine? I need to get to Berlin about a week before this in 1978. Not willing to sell soul, though will make you the sole beneficiary of my estate for one way ticket.

I saw the "Casino" album performed in it's entirety in Central Park When I was a kid. EVERYONE was standing on their seats going NUTS! On the train back to Jersey I saw an acquaintance coming back from the same show and I yelled "Hey man, wasn't that Fantastic! And he said "that was the stupidest music I'd ever heard.". I thought, "You're the stupidest idiot I've ever met." It's funny how preference of music becomes so personal. I felt personally insulted by that comment. To each his own..

SCUMBAG FATHER? NY Daily News: Al Di Meola got three gold albums, but the guitar virtuoso doesn't want to pay a penny in child support for his 8-year old son, Kyle. Di Meola allegedly has visited his son only once, according tomother, Magda Barreca.Di Meola Productions rakes in millions but he claimed to have a salary of $49,000 in Family Court & defaulted on $122 per week payments. Di Meola has a $Multi-million dollar Colonial mansion in N.J., a condo in Miami, Land Rover & Mercedes SL 600.

Wow..........I cant believe the bassist is using a "P" bass with this music. Not the most aproppriate bass for the music I would say. Still great playing though.
@7StringTheory13 жыл бұрын
@NYCConsigliere "doesn't want to pay a penny..." then later "...defaulted to $122 per week in payments." Last time I checked, $122 is a lot more than a penny. I came here for guitar playing, not to be educated on the man's personal life of which you know FAR too much about.
