Fantastic Interview! AL IS THE MAN! Now worth mentioning Maestro Paco de Lucia technically wrote half of Mediterranian Sundance as it used a portion of Paco's RIO ANCHO released on his 1976 record Almoraima.

great interview with Al Di Meola I have a few of the early albums and was taken aback when i first heard Al play it was awsome.I love many different music genre and i play giutar some and can appreciate the players as i saw chet atkins years ago and he did a beatles set and was amazing. I just want to mention about George Harrison at the movie Bangladesh with Leon Russel the song beware of darkness really struck me when i saw it at the movie theater and every time i hear it i still get that feeling . God bless

Thank you so much for sharing that! It’s incredible how music like Al’s and artists like George Harrison can leave such a lasting impact. Beware of Darkness is truly a powerful song, and it’s amazing that you got to experience Chet Atkins live too-what a legend! 🙌 So glad you enjoyed the interview!

Hey Rob! Thanks for these interviews, really interesting. I was with Al almost every day at Abbey Road during the recording of his first album of songs by The Beatles (All Your Life). He's a good friend. Hey Al - I worked with Rob on the Cream Acoustic album we did with Ginger Baker at Abbey Road, great to work with. See you in London someday soon I hope!

@@dopeYEAHtalk Yes! I'm the friend he rang to ask if Abbey Road was still working and available. Actually he first asked if Apple Studios was going and when I said it's gone he asked about Abbey Road. It was great watching him work on the parts and observe his work ethic

it's funny i always liked Land of the midnight sun the best just a personal thing it's not necessarily better technically or compositionally or anything like that theres so much longevity and layers to his career and still is .Of course elegant gypsy and casino were right there and other peeps favorite.I saw the early fusion stuff Palladium NYC ,then acoustic stuff at the blue note and luckily Al ,John and Paco at Carnegie hall . I missed Return to forever because of age .great memories , I love the video of Al playing with Mateo Mancuso recently that was very supportive of Al for the young fella .I have to hear the Winwood thing hope i can find that !

Thing is Elegant Gypsy sounded better live where Land of Midnight Sun is Very hard to pull off live so it's my favorite record by him. You are spot on!

@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories It's awesome to hear how personal Land of the Midnight Sun is for you! 🎶 I totally get that feeling-some albums just hit differently, even if they’re not always the most technical. Seeing the early fusion and acoustic sets live must have been incredible, and you're right, Elegant Gypsy live is on another level! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
