I was watching this on Soul Train when it aired. I was a huge Al Green fan. However, I thought the outfit was a bit much. I told my boyfriend at the time I thought Al might be gay. My boyfriend got upset with me. He said just because a man was wearing hotpants didn't mean he was gay. My boyfriend had gorgeous legs and thighs, and a great body. However, he NEVER wore hotpants.

I hope they recreated this, Don dissing Kurtis Blow (about the emerging first era of hip hop) after he performed "The Breaks" a J5 cameo and Mary Wilson dancing with Don down to the _ST_ line. I never thought, dreamed or believed even to this very day that any man dressing up in a woman's outfit couldever be or become the best of times in human history, and i feel the sameway about same-sex marriages. 🤔

This was not the fashion of the time. What we see is an Al Green going through something that he quickly changed and got out of. This is probably just one of the other many things that pushed him into the gospel.
