This wasn't Doyles worst ride but she messed up in the Prix De L'Opera by going for home too early and was all at sea at the Breeders Cup. IMO the pressure sometimes affects her tactical riding.

The favorite never looked likely to win. Moore in absolute control, his mount just getting worried out of it. Classical Ryan, doing nothing wrong but making it impossible to nick the rail position. I don’t think it affected the result, when he got clear air , he failed to quicken like a real class horse would and finished 4th.

Inexperienced jockey hemmed in by experienced Moore and Cowley. Should have got a jockey who knew the track. In fairness she is better than this and if Soumillion or Pesslier might have faired better

It was Gosden who decided Soul Sister should run in the Epsom Oaks rather than the French Oaks. If it was up to the owners all the time to decide surely Mosthadaf would have lined up alongside Paddington and Emily Upjohn. Small fry trainers who run their horses regularly in egg and spoon races on all-weather tracks almost always decide which races the horse runs in. When it comes to top trainers with Group class horses it's not so straightforward.
