Al istighfar Magnificent Recitation of Request for Forgiveness to ALLAH (Astaghfirullah, al hamdulillah, allahu akbar, Subhan'Allah)
In Arabic, "Istighfar" is written ٱسْتِغْفَار and means the request for forgiveness addressed to Allah, the Divine, the Only One deserving of worship. Thus, to fulfill Al Istighfar is to turn to His Creator with sincerity, piety and recollection and ask Him to forgive us, to give us mercy and to erase our sins so that we can access His vast Paradise. God is certainly capable of all things.
This request for forgiveness consists in repeating the Islamic formula أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللهَ which can be transcribed into phonetics as: "AstaghfiruLlah" and which is usually translated as: "I ask allah for forgiveness."
Some variants exist to complete this Islamic invocation. For example, some believing Muslims and believing Muslim women have a habit of saying: أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّٰهَ رَبِّي وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ, which can be translated from Arabic as: "I ask Allah's forgiveness, my Lord, and I repent of Him."
