One of the greatest wrestlers I've ever seen. Great fluid style awesome look. His work with the Von Erichs really made me a fan of wrestling especially WCCW. Those were the most exciting times as a kid. My whole family would cheer for him even though we loved the baby faces too. I'm so happy he is still alive. He looks great and god bless him and his family.

wow, awesome interview. I just heard about this guy the other day. If there was a top 10 list of "misused/one step away from being a star in the wrestling business" this guy would have been on that list. Al worked with some big names like Ric Flair, Ultimate Warrior, Sting, and Dusty Rhodes. Obviously to work with marquee names like that you have to be a really good wrestler, and have the complete package which Al had. Vince McMahon dropped the ball with Al big time. By the way I would have guessed he was 50-53 years old not 62 years old. He' looked a liked movie star/legit athlete in his prime and he looks good now.

Hannibal, tremendous work. On your next tour (which, this one has been epic!), any interviews w/guys like Eric Embry, John Tatum, and other WCCW legends, or, probably harder to get interviews w/Ole Anderson, Terry Funk, or Bill Watts, would be great. You build a great rapport w/these guys. Thanks for all you do!

I could see Al replacing Barry Windham in 89 as US Champ and a horsemen after windham left the company, then eventually turning on flair going after the world title. Also I could see him playing the razor ramon character he was a real cuban, but i couldn't see him staying in wwe putting up with that "FUNNY" stuff from fudge packer patterson.

Perez seems like a true gentleman, and of decent character, a straight shooter, 29:57 shows how much Perez, was over in the wrestling world. I believe his story on Sting. If you ever notice, Sting admits he wasnt living right back in the day, but there aren't any stories for real. Most wrestlers always say he didn't really fraternize with the boys, but maybe they just say that because he never really played politics. Somebody has to have dirt on him, but it's always guys like Flair or Luger telling the stories, and they will cover for him

Interesting perspective on that whole Flair/Perez controversy, as I've never heard his take on it. Al may've been a bit too...straightforward...w/mgmt, but I've also heard guys talk about how Flair buried guys behind their back to stop their momentum and protect his spot (especially during the Crockett yrs...Windham and Luger, to name two...the whole situation surrounding Garvin's title run). Can't blame Flair, necessarily, but it's easy to see how the stories got muddled quickly. Quick plug--watch Hannibal's interview w/Ronnie Garvin...awesome...
