I am dyslexic to and compose my own tunes, celtic music with a Scottish slant. Al has been a great musical influence to me his alternative tunings has an inspiration to me introducing me to a new exciting world of guitar possibilities . I enjoyed his programmes ,teaching his knowledge which most guitarist jealously hide but not Al who shared his guitar secrets and tips. I used to watch Dream guitars where Al would play the best guitars there is, his playing was exciting for me he was a Demigod of the accoustic guitar world he is sorely missed and the world is a worse place for it.

Great story. So sorry for your loss. What I knew of Al was mainly from his instructional videos, and some of his music on spotify. What shone through was a really decent and fun human being, who just happened to be making some great sounding music, and pioneering his own style of doing it. Looks like it was a match made in heaven.

I have enjoyed their music ever since I first heard them play at Stuart's Opera House in Nelsonville, OH several years ago. Al's guitar playing inspires me and together with Amy they uplift my spirit.

Very touching story. I've been a fan since I saw the two of you perform in the lunchtime concert series at the National Building Museum in DC. Guess it was about 1999 since Racing Hearts had just been released.
