I remember listening to Al Read on the wireless with my dad in the 1950s. My dad loved to listen to Al Read in those happy innocent days that I miss so much. They just don't make good northern commediens of Al's calibre anymore. He was so funny, typical northern humour of the day.🤣🤣🤣

Amazing how he depicts 3 characters in one sketch.and sing . What treat ...that orchestra. Quality them. Superb recording ,live audience. Contageous laughter.Not dubbed.
