It’s because DeBoer was playing PAC-12 football this year. He will learn. Y’all need to focus on your own programs. I know it feels good for yall to see us have three losses after all this time. Alabama will be very good in 3 years once KDB has his idealisms established. Also, you’re comparing DeBoer to the greatest college coach of all time, so it’s almost a compliment that you’re holding him to that standard.

I’m not drawing the comparison to Nick Saban. Alabama fans are because they think Nick Saban struggling in year one is the same as this. Nick Saban inherited a horrendous situation where y’all won like 30 games over five years before y’all got lucky and had him fall directly in your lap. Kalen DeBoer inherited the best situation in college football history and crapped the bed year one and it’s only going to get worse.

@@SouthEndzone only a number of head coaches have won the national championship in year one. Yes, it is very arguable that this is one or if not the best position for a head coach to enter into their first year, however this was the job with the heaviest amount of weight on a coaches shoulder ever. His expectations are Nick Saban. People look past the games he did win. However, his losses flatten out those wins. On a different note, this would have been Nick Sabans most difficult regular season he faced. I give KDB a B+ this year.

All due respect I believe the issue is in DeBoer’s coordinators on both offense and defense. Just some boneheaded decision-making IMO and the OL/DL gave poor effort and were caught on their heels it felt like. Oklahoma also gave their absolute best effort

Excuse’s excuse’s. Could possibly be that maybe just maybe that Oklahoma’s not as bad as all the SEC people thought. And just flat out played Bama. You know the Sooners didn’t get to be ranked among some of the elite college teams though the years for no reason. I do believe they earned it. Yes they have their ups and downs but what team doesn’t? So instead of making excuses to make it look like a fluke win why not give the Sooners the credit for the win over a team that has dominated the rest of the country for the last several years.
