@stevenfuller51334 күн бұрын
@@joshuahaney3400 it’s seems to me that we don’t have the amount of NIL money that a lot of other teams have. You would think that being a law school would help us in NIL but it looks like a bunch of those guys don’t want to spend their money on buying players. That’s why we have Greg Byrne asking the fans to “fight back!”. Michigan has a billionaire and Tom Brady fitting the bill. They had just donated around 200 million toward buying the best players by offering outrageous sums of money to the athletes that they really want. That’s why they offered that quarterback 12 million. They know that no other schools want to get in a bidding war with them. Then you got Mr Yellawood at Auburn offering millions to kids and Ole Miss has several boosters that are millionaires along with Texas, A&M, Ohio State, and let’s not forget Oregon with Mr Nike. It’s really sad. Everyone wants to compare “the new college football” to the NFL but at least in the NFL they have contracts that they must abide by. The college game has none at the moment and there seems to be no loyalty anymore. Signing day absolutely means nothing anymore except that you might get them for a year or two before they get upset with coach for not playing or not enough money.

I will always love the game-I followed Alabama since the days of Coach Bryant. I couldn’t wait for the season to get underway. It was such an exciting time. The way it is now it just breaks my heart. As far as asking fans to help pay players is one of the most embarrassing looks on a University. Fans already pay too much on tickets, concessions, and parking not to mention all of the merchandise. I was raised on Alabama football but I will be damned if I will ever send any money to pay for a player. I don’t care if it means they never win again. Players used to be happy with a scholarship but those days are gone. I’m for players making money but there should be a cap set for how much. If a player transfer I think they should have to sit out a year before being allowed to play. Why do they say that a player is committed anymore when it really means that they’re only committed until they receive a bigger deal at another school. If this is what College Football has become then I guess my days of being interested in it has come to an end.

Bring in Justin Rhett from Georgia safety. Jacob Hood from Nebraska could be a big boy to bring in at the offensive tackle position And I think they need to look in the transfer portal at two other guys at linebacker Dasan McCullough from Oklahoma and Lamont green Jr. from Florida State APB Cam Cook from TCU, since we lost just as Haynes I mean we have Kevin Riley but he's really the only APB we have. Cook is a baller. Man I think they need to get another QB after losing Dylan Lonergan which surprised me I thought he would play baseball for Alabama ..... Malachi Nelson is the name they should toss out there at quarterback from Boise State And we need defensive lineman( sucks we lost 2026 signed vodney cleveland, if we continue to recruit him like we have he'll stick with Alabama) in we need really versatile/ Powerful defensive lineman that can get pressure on the quarterback and stop the run, few names have that potential David Blay defensive lineman from Louisiana Tech 6'4 305 Kyren Bourda Arizona State 6'3,290 even Travis shaw UNC 6'5 325. But you know I know none of these coaches are going to listen to me but these are needs and I think Bama needs to load up in the portal because these are needs and if I was the general manager these are guys I'd be looking at and we need depth so Bama needs to get out there and get it done like LSU and Ole Miss are. Wow. Your graphic puts into perspective just how BAD of shape we are in with our WR depth. If Germ doesn’t come back, we are screwed. We would have Hollywood as our ONLY returning WR who is proven and played regularly. Then you have Rico Scott and Amari Jefferson (who hasn’t played meaningful snaps). That is it for guys who have played any snaps and can go out there an play. Bubba Hampton getting hurt at this point is devastating. Cole Adams who isn’t ever going to be elite is also out for awhile. Jalen Hale was going to be a breakout player but a devastating injury makes him A HUGE unknown and we can’t depend on him coming back from a brutal injury. I believe Lotzier Brooks can play early w his speed. We have no choice but to play Bak at WR. DeBoer HAS to go get Concepcion. He won’t because he is a mid coach and proven that by being satisfied w Nick Sheridan. Colorado will wooo him with the promises of winning a title which isn’t happening with Shadeur and Hunter gone this year. But all that hype will get him. We are in trouble at the WR position. Coach Saban had a edge over other coaches because he developed players. Players wanted to play at Bama because they would have a higher chance of being drafted. NIL is changing the field because players are just going to quick money but have forgotten about future money. Look at Ohio State. They have the most expensive roster,but without a proper coach, they will become stagnant. NIL won't be able to keep up with this pace. The bottom will fall out.
@antwonweston11614 күн бұрын
They don't have the most expensive, it just seemed that way because everyone was pointing out 20 million dollars. Ole miss spent more on they're transfer class
@charlesyarbrough26194 күн бұрын
@antwonweston1161 , that's the part that wasn't clear. There was the figure of 12 million thrown out and the figure of 20 million thrown out. I think the 20 million might have included the coaching change. Even if it's 12, even if Ole miss spent more, its still the same. Ole miss had 3 losses. Ohio State did make the playoffs but lost to a bad Michigan team for the 4th year in a row. If coaches can't coach, the players are giving up their future for some quick short term money.
@John-h3e7d4 күн бұрын
Cool story lol. Straight up delusional. Saban had an edge (aka unfair advantage) because he was paying players at least 15 years before it became known as "NIL". Wasn't so good at MSU and certainly not in the NFL where he had to actually win with a level playing field. Just pay every 5* you can get your hands on and of course a few pan out. 0 to do with "development". When it became clear that said advantage was gone he headed for the hills. TRUTH...I know it hurts and the channel here will delete my post as all these channels do 👍👍👍
@charlesyarbrough26194 күн бұрын
@John-h3e7d , maybe you're the delusional one. After all these years. The multitude of players, first round draft picks, the many drafted, and not one player has ever mentioned being paid at Bama. All the instances at other schools, yet not one single investigation of Bama paying players. If Saban was paying players, does that mean he did it at LSU? He won a championship there. If you watched anything on Saban, he left the NFL because he had no decision-making on picking draft picks. He said multiple times that if he had gotten Drew Brees like he wanted, he would probably still be there. He did have an advantage. He developed players. Listen to all the past players talk about him. He was a coach, a father figure, and a mentor. He developed players better than any coach ever has. Sucks you have to try and defame a program because the team you root for sucks.
