Glad we got these guys Roll Tide! As for the portal there should be one time transfer rule without losing a year of eligibility. After that each transfer should come with an automatic loss of a year eligibility with another year loss for every transfer afterwards. Coach Saban was right that players deserve to be paid but have to have some sort of consequences if they decide on jumping from school to school for the next big deal. Even a coach faces consequences if they don't fulfill their contract from having money forfeited to the school having a buyout clauses if there's a coaching change. Roll Tide and Coach KD will be great for us.👍

My thing about this is that corporations or individuals who are footing the bill to pay a player are dealing in good faith with a player and I can't see them paying $500k to $1mil for a guy to stay 1 season and then go to Ohio State or Texas to get the next windfall. I would think that before a player takes off after one year he should have to compensate the donor a reasonable amount or if he's unable to pay that restitution he must either stay or sit out an appropriate amount of time before playing anywhere else. In other words, a corporation or individual can slap a lien on his ass until they get what was promised. All NIL and the transfer portal did was get rid of a governing body that gave the player nothing in the way of compensation and no power at all and created a royal goat fuck where the player is holding all the face cards and getting obscene amounts of money to play one season somewhere before reopening the bidding for his services at seasons end. Even NFL players stay with a team longer than one year typically.

What I don't understand is how a player can get a payday and then turn around and transfer at the end of the year. In fact they can do it multiple times. Shouldn't they be required to compensate the donor if they transfer at the end of the year. I would think that the donor had a reasonable expectation that the player would be around longer than 1 season. I sure as hell wouldn't give a player $500k to play 1 year for my team and then watch him bebop his ass to Ohio State. If I was a donor I would ask the kid how long he was going to be with the team. If he said 3 years and then decided to leave after 1 I'd take his ass to court. These donors need to get their shit together and start getting things in writing and making sure the player holds up his end.

@ but keep in mind we don’t know for sure cuz he is coming off major injury we don’t know if he will re injury it or if he regressed a little because when your focusing on rehab your not necessarily training your body for football your training it to recover so it could take some time and if Cole is on his stuff this offseason he could push for a starting role I just don’t like that he made it a white or black thing it has never been that at Bama

Normally I would say that an incoming coach going 9-3 had a pretty successful season but I can't say that with this coach and team. Penalties still a problem, a general lack of discipline and when did the GOAT ever put up with the crap Malachi Moore pulled at the end of the Vandy game? And speaking of Vanderbilt. I don't care that they had a decent team this year. It's still f***ing Vanderbilt and we should never lose to Vanderbilt with the talent present in Tuscaloosa. The issues that plagued Alabama this year should have been fixed by the coaches but weren't. I kept hearing the same thing from the players about KD before the season started and the players all said that he was more friendly than CNS and more of a players coach. Look, it's kinda like being a parent. The coach isn't your buddy, he's your coach and the worst mistake a coach can make is getting too personal with the players and trying to be their friend. He undermines himself in the long run and those players will ultimately lose respect for him. Even if a play didn't like Nick you knew damn sure they respected him. Hate to say it but Bama needs to exercise that clause in his contract where there can let him go without having to pay the buyout as long as it's within the first year. Start over. Get rid of all but maybe 1 or 2 current assistant coaches and after Oregon win the national championship go talk to Dan Lanning again and make him an offer he can't refuse. Bama's schedule for 2025 is identical to 2024 just flip flopping home and road games. That means we have UGA in Athens and South Carolina in Columbia. 9-3 may be as good as it ever gets with this clown.
