I was enjoying your video and you showing the great views and outdoors that are available for our use and recreation. I think I saw you burying a plastic bag (19:11 min)... and I make up a story that it was waste products from cooking and camping. I think I, as an outdoor enthusiast, I want to protect and preserve those areas I use and I advocate and practice a “leave no trace”camping ethic. I thought this was a great video till then... I carry out every thing I bring in, especially when I have the means to do so. I practice LNT protocols as prescribed by the various type of outdoor endeavor I am participating in, for trash, food and human waste. I believe you love the outdoors too... I think that we should all be stewards of the outdoors. I think I saw young people in your video and I think I should do all I can for them so that in the future they too, can experience what I as an adult love and they can share and teach their children to care for the outdoors, so that future generations can enjoy, learn to care for and love it too. I have heard the justification...it was only one bag... I think if that is a good excuse... if 5 other people use the same excuse... then 10 more... then 20 more... etc. “You must be the change, you wish or see in the world”... a quote by Ghandi. May all your adventuring be safe and amazing.

Thank you for your concern. It was a “I had to go” moment. Didn’t know what to do so i had to burry it. I buried it pretty darn good. But i get it! I’ll protect nature as best as i can.

Pack it in , pack it out . If ya got to go caca , ya gotta go . The only thing left behind should be the caca . Poopy paper should be bagged up and trashed in town or burned with the next campfire .

I love love love this area so much! Alabama Hills up through Mt Whitney, and the Eastern Sierras is so amazingly beautiful...and yes, Mt Whitney is the 2nd highest mountain in the USA, after Mt Denali in Alaska.
@stephenjester92384 жыл бұрын
mikefly562 True, true the 2nd highest, overall, but the highest in the lower48 states. So, anyway you slice it, Mt. Whitney is an impressive piece of real estate.

all i can think of is the movie Tremors when you are talking about mt Whitney . nice group camp, the food looked amazing. oh my, boys, will be boys lol Independence mine is very cool. in popular areas like this we will use a wag bag instead of cat holing a latrine as there are actually a lot more visitors to these locations than we sometimes think. save the next visitors dog digging up your freesh bury. thanks for sharing the camp vid. we do much of the same stuff, maybe you would enjoy one of our vids.

Thanks. Clearance? Hmm. I have a 3 1/2” lift with 35” wheels and a roof rack and i remember i think i had 2’ of ceiling clearance through the mine.

Dude burn your paper before burying it. Paper takes for ever to decompose in the desert environment. And a good storm can wash it out depending on the lay of the land. I've seen way too much tp scattered about in the back country. Plus I hope you all walked a good distance from your camp. A lot of people go to those places. Looks like it was a great time. Nice video.

How did you mount your rhino rack with a bikini top? Looks great !
@YeepLife5 жыл бұрын
I had to make a slit on the bikini top to pass the mounting bracket of the rack through. It is unnoticeable and the top is so rugged, the slit will not open even in high winds.

@@YeepLife The now cult classic movie "Tremors" was shot in near there. Chang's Market was a key focal point in the town of "Perfection" set. Graboids were the underground creatures attacking anything that moved.
