Caleb Odom isn’t physically mature enough to play TE right now .Thats why he hasn’t seen the field much. If he doesn’t have the patience to develop and buy in for one year, he doesn’t have a team mindset anyways. These kids expectation start immediately are delusional. That is something only a very very special few freshman are physically mature enough to do. Asking a freshman come in and handle SEC linemen and LBs isn’t realistic. Losing him will hurt but DeBoer should be getting him in to run as many routes as possible in games. You have to find ways to play these young kids who have star level upside. So WR is the only place he can be played rn.

Only way DeBoer prevents most players from leaving is by A.) he MUST beat Auburn (which isn’t happening) B.) he tells his defensive players he is bringing in an elite Defensive coordinator to get back to the smash mouth scheme we’ve always run at Bama. He has to fire Womack after the iron bowl and take a shot at bringing in DJ Durkin. He has to get back to a 3-4 or at the worst a 4-3. This 3-3-5 finesse defense lisn’t gonna cut it in this league. If DeBoer doesn’t replace both OC’s he is guaranteeing he will be fired 2 years from now. Book it. They are both in way over their heads. Sheridan is the worst OC I’ve ever seen. Special Teams coordinator is abysmal also. Single handedly cost us the Vandy game not recognizing HIS unit has a different PR in the game and that he has two #2s on the field. That’s HIS responsibility and mistakes like that can’t be tolerated from coaches. Surrounding himself with buddies is a great way to get fired. Surround yourself with THE BEST like Saban did. Saban wanted Durkin and DeBoer hires a South Alabama coach🤣🤣 If he keeps this staff intact, wouldn’t be surprised to see Roach or our RB coach leave.

Here is my thing. If ty starts next season and deboer bolsters his o-line with some veteran or highly experienced guys and has a heisman like season yall are gonna holler how ty shouldve been this and that and how yall said milroe was the problem and give ty all the hype. Yet we seen the downfall of this line from the 2 years with bryce and now these guys have played horrible as a unit the past 2 seasons with milroe. Around this time last season jalen worked himself into the vote and finished 6th. Yall see them numbers from the backs. Cant run the ball behind this o-line so everything falls on jalen. He has to be your qb and your running back but its all jalens fault. Last season he was at this point in time 2,834 yards passing with 23 passing tds, 531 rushing yards with 12 tds 161 attempts, and 6 ints. This season he is 2,396 passing yards, 15 passing tds, 9 ints 135 carries for 615 yards. Its clear they have gone away from his passing and focusing on his running and thats because we cant run the ball well enough with the backs this season. Last season jase and roydell gave some leverage to help out in the pass game because they had a bigger impact in the run game which also allowed milroe to have more success. I dont think yall gonna see that tho. Plus debeor isnt the only one who needs to talk to these players in staying. Milroe if he does needs to be involved and helping wit alot of off field time with these guys so they can find the chemistry. Its making me feel like because prentice had 650 yards last season and wasnt even reciever 1 or 2 that he isnt meshing with the concept. Same for law and the rest of these guys who we want to see. Debeor isnt gonna fire womack nor Sheridan but what he does need to do is sit them guys down and get after them. If not needs to let them go and i would love to see Freddie roach take over the defensive side of the ball as a dc. If debeor is this so called offensive genius then until he finds a oc he needs to call the plays or was it really ryan grubb who made him look good?
