Yeah, 126 is pretty much a perfect episode. It has everything: grief, hopelessness, determination, intensity, climactic fight scene, victory, hope. One of my favorites.

"The more you learn the level of this sea the more you will give up pn having dreams" line like this show me that Crocodile was like Luffy a pirate full of dreams but end losing so badly.... that he now want crash people like what happen to him

the moment Vivi started screaming to have the people stop fighting always gets me. she has tried everything to stop this war from starting and just when she thought people would stop with the bomb not going off the way it was meant to be, they continue fighting. all she can do at this point is yell to the heavens that they stop and it's heartbreaking.

Apparently Oda kept rewriting that scene until it was perfect and was crying while he drew the final

126 really is one of the best episodes of One Piece and certainly of the early days; this was the high point for the series at this stage. You can tell they went all in on it from the music and the animation to the shots. It also has such an incredible amount of depth to all the characters and interactions. Like Crocodile repeatedly saying that the more you get to know the Grand Line, the more you give up on your dreams. It's a pretty clear clue that Crocodile lost badly at some point and get's pissed off at seeing rookies who still have that blind faith in themselves. Now he's retreated to the early stage of the Grand Line and he's literally a big croc in a small pond crushing newbie pirates while trying to find an ancient weapon to basically cheat his way to the top. I tear up every time I hear this music with the scene of Crocodile flying through the air and Vivi just staring in awe; really the music direction was flawless for this finale. The flashback to her remembering Luffy so casually saying "I just gotta beat up this guy right?" and her realizing that he'd kept his promise; hits me every time. I would point out an additional fun fact though. We saw how it started raining within seconds of Crocodile getting his ass beat, right? If we remember that he's a Logia user, which is essentially an "element" user, and then remember another Logia we've run into, Ace. When they first introduced Ace, back when he was in Drum Kingdom, they mentioned that it oddly didn't snow that day. This is hinting that Logia users can affect their surroundings depending on their element. Ace's presence as a fire user made it warm enough that it didn't snow on a constant winter island. So if we keep that in mind, it's very likely that Crocodile wasn't just the cause of the war through his own machinations, but also his presence is the reason for the drought in the first place; he was literally drying up the country just by being there. So as soon as he got knocked out, the "spell" over the country was lifted and it starts raining again. Also, yeah the World Government didn't just want to not admit to pirates doing good, but additionally to pirates cleaning up a mess they created by backing Crocodile with their reputation in the first place. One Piece has so many cool, intriguing, multi-layered characters even outside of the Strawhat Crew. Smoker and Tashigi are two of the best examples. Oda's character design and world building is unparalleled in Shonen mangas. Naruto and Bleach are amazing imo, but One Piece is in a league of its own.

In a the Cover Story of the Manga, Oda has confirmed Koza is the Environmental Minister of the Kingdom of Alabasta, the sad news was Toei has stopped, after the Coby and Helmeppo Story, the Cover Stories production for the Anime apart from special characters

20:00 probably the greatest tackle in anime I have ever seen. - Cover-up? Government status quo would deteriorate if news go: "Well, one of the 7 pirate mercenary we [the World Government] keep went rogue, almost overthrown a country and could have commited genocide but another wanted pirate crew's vigilante behavior prevented this, since our forces were weaker than the man who can create a sandstorm." Some may say the World Government in One Piece is corrupt; I'd say flawed, and I'm no fan of anarchy.

I like the anime too, only non-fans haters would talk crap about it. The first 500 episodes they put everything to make a good show even if they lack the budge to make top notch episodes every week. Also, most of the finest work in the industries are small series, with 13~26 episodes but the series had already being finalize when they release those state of the art animation series. I think the show even run in low budge for a time.

Why would anyone trust to play heads or tails when a guy that can turn any part of himself into smoke is the one catching the coin. He could just turn part of his hand into smoke and turn around the coin any time he wants, while it's hidden.

There are so many amazing characters, and at this point (currently on ep 1083) I can't pick a favorite Straw Hat. The side characters and the villains have a depth that shows the manga needs to be considered fine literature. Oda tells us an amazing story and he tells it well. So well that 25 years later, it's still going strong, both in written form _and_ anime, and gaining new fans from a decent variety of the population every day. The anime has its weak points but anyone who thinks they have to wait until episode 400 before it gets good, they just need to go find something else to watch. This isn't for them. Some of these emotional scenes, most of them really, I've seen multiple times and they get me every single time. Doesn't matter if I know there's something that comes along later to undo the tragedy, it still gets me. This is art. Simple as that.
