Aladdin's lamp is a folklore tale set in the middle east is part of the story 1,000 and 1 Arabic nights in which this woman Sheherezade if she's able tell a different story for that amount of time to avoid being beheaded,from this also,derives Ali Baba and the 40 thief also The 7 voyages of Jason,etc

Because in the original version Aladdin and his mother live in China, the villain is the one whose arabic, they say writer did this because he was fascinated with Chinese culture at the time.

Aladdin, is the son of a deceased Chinese tailor and his poor widow. Aladdin is a lazy, careless boy who meets an African magician claiming to be his uncle. There is no evidence that this story was ever part of the collection “A Thousand Nights and One Nights.” No early Arabic original has ever been found. “Aladdin” exists today because of the 18th-century French Orientalist Antoine Galland and may have originated with a Syrian story teller.
