Saw a few vids that the shortcut has a different post marker for the shortcut but someone keeps removing them. I went couple weeks ago and there were no marker.

I’ve been on both trials, if you take the short cut, you’ll basically be on top of the water fall and it’ll be 7 miles to get there.

Looks like you took long way down & shortcut back? Have friends going today. It's their 1st time going there & I don't want them use shortcut path going there or coming back... Even many people do use shortcut path... I don't want them doing it. Rather they be safe & not worry about distance they may save... Nice video. Did you have drone with you for some of the shots? If so, what brand & model of drone were you using? Nice couple... Thanks for sharing video...

Thank you much appreciate, I been here a few times and have done both route long and short. This day I did short cut down & back up the same way. And yes I agree with you, safe is better. I shot it with my MAVIC Air 2 and my go pro 8.

Thumbs down for the fact that the National Forest service has stated to all entering tourists that this shortcut causes coastal erosion. So the trail that those who walked it before, shortcut or not, may have to tack on more miles in the future because of the abuse committed by these “shortcutters”. ‘Leave no trace’ doesn’t just mean bag your trash, it also means respect nature’s course in a way that the NFS permits it.
