@jjkmovies9 жыл бұрын
I've found that a looping walk cycle won't look slidey if you time the tween right. It can take some adjusting to get it right, but I do it all the time. Love this tutorial, by the way.
@AlanBeckerTutorials9 жыл бұрын
Yes, true, you can tweak the speed and distance to reduce the slide, but there are two other factors: the distance the foot travels in each frame has to be perfectly even, and often that is hard to predict. Also if you animate the cycle on twos and the tween is on ones, it will always appear to be sliding. But yeah if it's on ones and perfectly spaced then it works.

Love and appreciate the fact that you explain so SO well of why contact pose is called a contact pose and passing pose as a passing pose. My professors just straight up say now let’s do contact passing up down etc poses without explaining what they mean or what they are. It’s not very motivating not knowing what they mean. Not knowing the real meaning makes me feel rushed. Like either just go with the flow and do it without completely understand the concepts of why we need those poses or fail. Great explanation. Such a life savor.

It's easy to forget, but walking is a balancing act that, ironically, has many steps. It's difficult to understand because each leg is doing something different at the same time: 1) In order to start moving, you use Foot 1 to push yourself up and forward off the ground. You stick Foot 2 out in front of you and land on it. 2) Keeping your leg stiff, you pivot on Foot 2 as if it's a pole. You lift Foot 1 into the air by bending your knee (this prevents your foot from dragging on the ground when it swings by Foot 2). 3) Once you pivot far enough on Foot 2, you begin falling forward. At this time, you straighten Foot 1's leg and land on it. Both legs are straight now, in an upside-down V shape. 4) You use Foot 2 to push off the ground again (this keeps you moving forward). 5) Now you use Foot 1 as a pole, and swing Foot 2 through the air by bending your knee. 6) You fall forward, straighten your leg, catch yourself on Foot 2, and push off the ground with Foot 1. Repeat this cycle, and that's walking! It's still very difficult to get down, and there are many smaller details I haven't covered, but this is the gist of it. Good luck and good work with your animations!
