I'll be honest. as someone who plays on and off, the speed is all in the technique. the swivel technique really takes the load off the other muscles. at least that's the way I see it. yes it does take time to even build up the speed and technique but as someone who's only been playing drums as a whole for 4-5 years, the technique genuinely falls on the technique. am I as tight as Alan, no but that is the idea behind it

I’ve always thought among the death metal scene, The Black Dahlia Murder has always been my fave, and stood out to me in two ways mostly. And maybe I’m biased since I’m a Drummer before being a Guitarist. The vocals and Drums. The Guitars are always tasteful as well, don’t get me wrong. But, Trev has such a unique and badass tone to his vocals. And I’ve always thought the Drums were groovier than other bands of the like, and you being a later in the catalog Drummer, I dig your grooves, man- staying true to their sound, without sacrificing your own feel for the music. Great Drumming, bro- take care. 🤘🏻
