I'll be honest. as someone who plays on and off, the speed is all in the technique. the swivel technique really takes the load off the other muscles. at least that's the way I see it. yes it does take time to even build up the speed and technique but as someone who's only been playing drums as a whole for 4-5 years, the technique genuinely falls on the technique. am I as tight as Alan, no but that is the idea behind it

It's a technique drummers use when they play heel up on the pedals. I believe its called swivel technique.
