we don't put on a 'fake american accent' when we sing. the vowels you use while singing are naturally more open, and you lose a lot of the distinct stress patterns of an accent to the rhythm of song, so it sounds more 'american'.
@bethanbaker70662 жыл бұрын
@@cece-707 Exactly, I'm Scottish and i naturally use a PR British accent when singing which sometimes slips into American just because i mostly sing musical theatre. If I really try i can do it in a Scottish one but it just sounds strange unless its folk music. I also just want to add that I can't speak in another accent at all, I've tried and I'm horrendous at it, it only happens when I sing.
@ApproximatelyJane7 жыл бұрын
It's fun to see how this song turns out out of context, when a performer really puts his back into making it impressive instead of playing it as epic trainwreck Sally.

Not every actor/singer could successfully sing with a convincing "German accent" while articulating the English/Scottish glottal stop [ "beh-er off," for example]. Superb!

What I like about this version that it is serious and tragic as it actually is and not covered with showy vocals and performance like it's usually done. But it is still emotional and showy enough for the song to be mind-blowing. The pain is all there.
