Mavs signing was the biggest imo. Klays shooting will change the teams potential and dynamics like never before. All those drives and kicks from Kyrie and Luka will now go into the hands of a HoF shooter career 40% 3PT who is use to shooting off screens and off the dribble. Choosing to stay on klay or double Luka or Kyrie will have teams running in circles. Their high flyers like gafford and Livey will get even more open dunks bec of the attention teams will have to place on Klay when he's on the floor. This team is going to be a lot of fun to watch this season.

If you're over the apron and expecting to be a team picking at the back half of the first.. You're trying to get rid of those picks anyways now. PG to sixers has to be an "incomplete" right now. They don't even have a team around them yet, we don't really know what the chemistry or philosophy will work. PG has a lot of potential - good and bad. The puzzle pieces fit better than the suns, but ultimately what killed the suns was lack of 2 way talent around them and never finding chemistry beyond "your turn my turn"... could easily see the same type of thing in philly. Completely agree about thunder. I was never sold on them last year, the early exit didn't surprise me. But they are an exceptional and contender worthy team that got better in two places they absolutely needed to - its nice to see a GM actually learn the "why" behind losing in the playoffs and doing something about it (looking at mavs who lost cuz they had too many defensive liabilities on the perimeter and decided to double down on.. not having perimeter defenders). I think Thunder make a huge jump and it's only a metter of mental maturity for them to get over the hump to the finals now.

I'm honestly floored that Klay to Mavs has been so celebrated as a huge win all things considered. I just don't understand how adding a declining shooter who can't defend anymore is the answer for a team who went on a championship run based on THEIR DEFENSE bordering elite. They lost their best on-ball STARTING defender and paid more to get klay... so what do they do late? You gonna sit klay for defense? You gonna allow what looks to be potentially the worst perimeter defense of any of the "good" or "potential contender" teams in the league? I dunno. I just don't see it. Apparently I'm the only one cuz everyone else seems to think its so great but I think trading defense for inconsistent offense is a reg season wins move not a playoff one.
@jamesbittle97892 ай бұрын
Klay shot 39% last year. He will be better playing with Luka and Kyrie. Marshall replaces DJJ. And yes, they probably will mix and match in late games situations. FYI, the Mavs were the number one defense in the league down the stretch last year with DJJ only playing 20 minutes a game. Haradway and Green played major minutes too.
