Spot on! I am 59 years old and been gaming since Pong in 1974. Played hundreds of games. Alan Wake 2 is the greatest game I have ever played. Thanks for your efforts in your video.

I have both headphones and speakers, but I'm into hifi, so I heard a lot more detail on my speakers than the majority of people, but I still ask myself if I should've switched to my headphones, idk could be, but it was so beautifully crisp sounding in details :D

I'm right there with you man. I've never played anything like this. I've been playing Remedy games since Max Payne. They've always been on the technological forefront and told amazing stories but they really went above and beyond with this title. A lot of people weren't fond of the mind place mechanic but I loved it. There are layers upon layers to this story and it was a nice way to refer back specific details in case I overlooked or forgot something. I have a theory about scratch, but I could be completely wrong. There were so many moments were I was just in awe of the fidelity of this game and could've misinterpreted something because of it. Alan isn't exactly perfect and has his demons and I think scratch might be a physical manifestation of that brought to life by the power of cauldron lake and his art. Somehow it's still tied to the motives of whatever lies in the lake. I got this feeling after Alan realized he wrote return after watching Alice's video. Feel free to correct me though. Great vid btw!
@ShyCorn9 ай бұрын
I totally understand the criticism some people have of the mind place mechanic and how it may have slowed down the pace of the game too abruptly, but it felt so well integrated to me and served both narrative and gameplay purposes perfectly. I’m really glad to see other people thought the same thing. That’s a great point! There’s constant references to the fact that Alan has to write within the confines of the story, use what’s already there. Maybe Scratch was already there in a sense, deep inside Alan’s psyche, and Cauldron Lake set him free when the story came to life.I’m super excited to see how this plays out in DLC or a sequel. Thank you for watching!

Their approach to storytelling in games is nothing short of exceptional. Consistently craft narratives that linger in players’ minds long after the game ends

TOKT blew me away with its design and ability to prove upon perfect and RE4R had me for 8 playthroughs straight, but AW2 has made me think long after finishing it. It has stuck with me. The way the narrative is stiched together and takes tropes you've seen before and handles them in interesting ways is absolutely incredible. This game oozes personality and vision, which is ultimately what makes it my GOTY too.
@ShyCorn9 ай бұрын
You put it really well. A game’a ability to stick with me after the credits roll is a huge indicator of just how special it was. There are so many games that you can beat and move onto the next one, but to have something stay with you, change your perspective, impact you in some way, is what makes games art in a way that other less interactive mediums can’t quite achieve. Thank you for watching!

I can't stop thinking about this game. It's a game I wish I could forget and experience again. I've never enjoyed playing a game as much as this one. It may even be one of the best experiences I've had in any medium period. It's hard to try and pick up new games now because I just keep thinking about this one. Will jump back into it after they release NG+ and can't wait for the DLC. I wish I could thank Sam Lake and all the people at Remedy for creating this masterpiece.

@jubileechambers26049 ай бұрын
Before I even start this i agree that personally Alan Wake 2 is my game of the year. And what I ultimately came to as why is that it pushes the boundaries of games in several ways with its story, incredible moments, combination of different medias in a truly surreal, unique and almost unsettling way. It felt like a truly unique experience ive never experienced before. I feel baldur's gate 3 is more perfecting a style that it has cultivated rather than pushing the boundary forward. I also want to tack on to this the moment I saw the pictures that Alice took of her jumping that she went back into the lake. I immediately yelled when Alan said she's dead I said "she's not dead you idiot she jumped back into the lake" because looking at the pictures I went is that the lake? that's a caldera right? that's caldron lake. I was losing my mind at that moment.

I loved one when it first came out bought the complete edition and just recently finished it. Now im ready to play 2. Between that and robo cop. I right on the fence about waiting for a sale and buying full price because at the moment i can only get them digital and i like physical more because i can resell it and get something for it to buy another game. I have also heard you didnt need to play one to enjoy 2 but i have also heard you should play one to understand 2. I haven't played 2 yet but i have to agree. People should play one first because if you enjoy one you will probably really enjoy 2. Where if you don't enjoy 1,then you definitely wont enjoy 2. But i feel thats they way it is with alot of sequels.
