I love this comment. Like yeah man lets go into philosophy and the world of things in a KZbin comments section :D! We're all magic, though we do a very good job at convincing ourselves we're not. To be honest with you very most days I forget and that's something to work on for you. Remembering. Well I think when you really get down to it all these things like money, toys, ladders, hell even things like areas of education.. they are all very good vessels to help you forget that you are indeed free. We are by our nature but it's the way the world works that causes us so many struggles. Under the systems that we're in now such as currency, working life ect, we're born into it. We have no choice, we didn't ask for this so we are "unfree" by how the world functions not by our own consciousness. Many things try very hard to school us out of ourselves into a self, then of course we wear that self so well that we convince almost every part of our bodies that we are that, but we're not. I think that's almost the essence of spirituality.. but this is beyond that - this is just soul level truth. As Alan says the world doesn't become thinged. Even the way we talk about this as he says is tied up in language which is very restrictive of truth, There ARE no separate things, not out there. But in here, in how we were brought up - there are. That's the thing of it it's stepping behind yourself. Which of course you can't do. Alans beautiful analogies like a fire can't burn itself and you can't bite your own teeth. As you can tell I'm fun at parties. I think in terms of "So I'm here and I had no choice" the question comes down to us, what do we want to do here? I think it's about death and so many people (including me of course) want to immortalize themselves in some form. Maybe that's living for every sense pleasure you can, maybe that's creating a vast wealth or a name - to live on after you go. For me I feel, I don't know yet what I want. What's important to me that I'm aware of at this stage is that I want to get really good at what I do and be proud of my mark on the world, however small. Second to that I want to really love people, a lot. I have so much love to give. I want to unmask and learn to be myself and I think the best thing we can do here is to all slowly put down our collective masks and learn to see and be with each-other. This is hard because of course the world is hard, painful and we collectively numb ourselves to the reality so we can live comfortably. I feel what is important is letting our heart come to front so I can see you as a fellow soul and love you as that. And when you're there.. what even is money, you know I think Ram Das puts all that a lot more eloquently when he says: "I'll make believe who you think you are if you make believe who I think I am". "Perhaps it's in our best interest to let go. Perhaps it's in the best interest of society itself that we may share ourselves above hoarding things in ever bigger caves of brick and steel." I love this man! This is what many are doing. I think you're right. This process is the opposite of what we need to move into a deeper level of consciousness as a humanity - and with that, with love flowing so powerfully around our society so many things will be healed and loved. I think the more we open to the top of beauty and consciousness, the more we feel the atrocities. War, traumas, injustice, suffering. But at the same time we see the isness of everything and how everything is just so. And it's perfect... I'm not there yet 😂 I think the question we need to ask ourselves at this level is how much do we want? How much of all of it do we want to experience. From there we know the direction to take. Thank you for your lovely comment my friend :) May all beings find peace and happiness

What I really like about him is he discribes himself as an entertainer, that's amazing. He went through suffering in his like like everybody else, the alcoholism that ended up killing him. But he had a particular level of understanding and a way with words that can so greatly describe the human condition - but even then that didn't exclude himself from going through it. I second that, what a genius. There are some amazing people out there to follow the teachings of when you start to know where to look :)

You're very welcome! I only hope more of us as humans would be able to really take to heart these truths about the world, not as it is from a matter of perspective - but from the very fundamentals of language and understanding. To see that the nature of comparison and things we take as a given before even pitching our perspective, is an unstable base to begin with. Many don't realize this, which leads to lots of problems!

I promise you if I was able to mix a talk with music you really liked in a way that you really liked there would be people commenting this on the post. We're all incredibly different.
