What a splendid way to explain individual ego and its play.

What a smart man, a trained instructor. There is quite the element of psychology here; and a great understanding or background of religious study. Indeed, I admire that Mr. Watt knew Chinese as well as Indian ( east, not native American) terms and deftly instructs us how to use these terms (others may not be so fprthcoming). As a Westerner, I disagree In All Circumstances you need to disengage your 'ego', which isn't a solid object but a psychological word in explanation of middle ground between superego and ID. We as humans develop an ego, best be aware as adults we do, and to go without one In All circumstances leaves one prey to gullibility and manipulation of authority. However, as Watt explains, subduing the ego in deference of respected leadership working for benefit also has merit occasionally...😄

Superego and Id no sooner "exist" than does the ego, Fiction, Not A Thing.

You can’t kill the Ego. You must purify the EGO. You can’t get rid of desires but you can control and direct desire through will

今天我好像听懂了什么是道:体内的呼吸和血液的流通不会受到意志的阻挠,像似自然中的力量无法被人类左右。这种在生命体内与外的力量就是道,它无处不在,万物的起源,万物运行的规律。This further confirmed my belief that humans are insignificant in this cosmos, yet we believe we are the supreme beings of the world, in spite of having only 2 percent differences in DNA from apes.
