I did my MCL tear, tried to not do MRI for 2 years with just Physio, turns out 2 years later that my ACL ruptured as a result of MCL impact. Just get the MRI done jack

Did my meniscus nearly a year ago, and I’d highly recommend you get an MRI. Knees are tricky to diagnose, especially when it comes to surfing.. bottom turns and rapid twisting (particularly aerials) are a bad combo for the knee and healing
