The Miyagi prefectural qualifiers for Spring Nationals are split into two phases: preliminary (beginning of August) and final (end of October). The top 8 teams from Summer Interhigh qualifiers (including Aoba Johsai and Shiratorizawa) get a bye in the preliminary phase and go straight to final phase. The 8 teams that lost to those top 8 teams (like Karasuno to Aoba Johsai) get a bye in the 1st round of the preliminary phase. 48 teams play in the 1st round of the preliminary phase, with 24 teams advancing to 2nd round, joined by the 8 teams that got a bye, making it 32 teams. In round 2, 16 winners advance to round 3, and then 8 winners from round 3 advance to final phase, where they are joined by the top 8 teams. The final phase starts with 16 teams, so they play 4 rounds until the winner emerges.

the scene where dude is deciding whether to get the ball or not is such a strong scene. I know there have been many epic moments in this anime, but that part left a huge impact on me. Simple, but such a powerful thought.

Other comments have already said it, but one of the best parts of Haikyuu really is how all the opponents aren't the "bad guys" but rather rival teams/players that you almost always end up sympathizing with and cheering for too. Makes it all the more painful when you know one team has to eventually lose

I really LOVE how Haikyuu makes you care and root for ALL the teams that play is so wonderful.

Oh btw just FYI because a lot of ppl don't notice, plus it helps a lot when you're confused about things, flags up mean out flags down mean in

5:52 They played against Shiratorizawa in the Summer Interhigh prelims, the same one that Karasuno lost to Aoba Johsai. Basically, during season 1.

Its the little moments like these that relate so much to volleyball players and maybe even just sports players in general

I will foresee Alana going through every single emotion for the last few episodes of this season. The 2nd last episode especially, sheesh.

I think that it happens more frequently from this season and forwards that by the height in some of the players you are going to keep asking yourself if they are in Highschool or what 🤣
