@mya32189 Once a follicle has been removed from the donor area, it will not typically grow back in that area... it will, however, grow permanently in the place where it has been transplanted to. The good news is that you can remove literally thousands and thousands of follicles without any significant change in visual coverage in the donor area. If you use body hair for transplantation, yes, the hair growth rates as well as curl, color, texture are different than the scalp follicles.

@stevey1111 Actually, using staples for the donor area is common in more than a few practices, as we have seen presented at the ISHRS Annual Scientific Meetings--especially in the Pacific Northwest. In our hands at Bauman Medical Group, we routinely harvest 1500-1700 grafts with the NeoGraft per day (3000+ takes two days). If you watch some of the more technical vids, you'll see that there is absolutely NO damage to surrounding follicles or those harvested. Linear harvests transect many!

@badmuthasuka In response to your question, for younger hair loss patients we recommend non-invasive treatment options to stabilize the hair loss process first before considering hair transplantation. Once things are stable, we can discuss what (if any) procedure might be needed and when it would be appropriate to consider a transplant. --Dr. B.

What is the minimum number of grafts we have to get? How much per graft?

Will the area where the hair has been removed grow back? Also if you use hair from other parts of the body will the hair growth rate be different from the rest of your head ?

Dear Mr. Bauman, what about wounds where the follicles are ripped out with the skin, and you have no hair follicles? Would implanting hair follicles were there are none work as well? I am not balding. In fact, except for the wound, I still grow hair like crazy. I had a severe accident 2 years ago that literally ripped part of the top of my head down to the skull. Skin and tissue grew back, but the hair didn't. Would a healed wound that is now an empty scar, cause any transplant problems?

If you removed hair from my back, would the hair turn out as natural as it would from the back of my scalp? Also, once it's implemented, if I shave in the transplanted area does that mean it will grow back now or not?

You do NOT staple the area back in a regular transplant procedure!

Even Fue has no staple

Just a quick estimate, I have two bald spots on my hairline. The bald area is about 2 and a half inches long and about an inch in width about how much would that cost me?
