Just to let everyone know that Alan has a book out - Musical Composition - Craft & Art. It's a very practical book and like these videos it's well explained.

Also I might add... I like the way you present your course... You speak slowly and go thru each step methodically so that slower folks like me can understand and keep up... This makes for an excellent investment in my time...Thank You Sir!!!

Thank you Mr. Alan Belkin! I am returning to composition after a long hiatus of many years. I was so excited when I came upon your videos--I immediately knew you were the instructor I wanted to learn from! Your understanding on the subject of composition, harmony and orchestration is undeniably one of the most comprehensive. I enjoy learning from you and will continue to return to your lessons repeatedly I'm sure!

Example 1h commits the fault of false relation between the C# and C natural, between which, the chromatic inflection should occur in the same voice.

I'm confused why example 1i ends on E7/D, which is III2, instead of C. It looks like the D in the bass didn't really resolve.
