Alang is known for it’s high quality materials because all things are coming from ship-breaking yards in Alang (world’s biggest Ship breaking yard). Due to big ships & cruise stay in water for entirely of it’s life, furniture & interior inside the ship/cruise has to be made out of strong wood or material that it don’t get affected by humidity of sea. When they break ship, yard owners mainly interested in big metals (mainly steel) and they sells all other furnitures to local traders like one in video. These traders modify furniture as per demand in market and sells it. Even in some cities of Gujarat, one can easily find shops with name tag like ‘Alang’s furniture’. You can call it a second hand items, even might find costly, but, always remember, most items are made of high quality wood. Ship comes to Alang after it’s end of lie which usually is 30-40 years, if furniture is still intact with living in 30-40 years in sea, nothing is going to happen to that furniture if you get it in your home.
