Owing to another ridiculous innovation by Google, I am no longer able to post video responses to my own videos. For those wanting to see the whole series please go to the playlist.

Thank you - that is very nice. It also makes it more interesting for me! It depends on where the difference is between being able to speak a language and being able to get by and that is not clear but I more or less speak six to nine languages and understand several more!

I get the impression that there are not as many as there used to be and there are not too many in Italy!

I used to cycle in the Netherlands when I had "friends" over there about four years ago.Their bikes seemed to be designed with riders comfort in mind and of course because it is flat terrain I found it a lot easier to sustain my journeys. Also, they have cycle paths galore over there and as a cyclist you are treated with more respect than you would be in the UK in my opinion.

I sold my mountain bike last month because I found I could no longer ride more than a mile without having to stop due to breathlessness and aching legs. When I bought it back in 99 I used to whizz around the district clocking miles in double figures so i can sympathise with your predicament!

It looked like more than 30seconds. I would have just pulled right up that driveway. To each his own (:

I love the videos! It's neat to be a part of the journey. How many languages do you speak?

I am now in Hungary and there are roads here through towns on which cyclists are not allowed. That comes as a surprise when one really ought to encourage people to use greener forms of transport!

I would have mounted that curb.

Widzę, że droga na Etnę jest coraz gorsza. Szkoda samochodu. Mam nadzieję, że na szczycie nie było mgły i warto było jechać! Serdecznie pozdrawiam.

I don't know the age of llewesa100 but my father rode 40 miles a day on his bicycle in his mid 70's. He rode from San Francisco to Seattle in 10 days in his 60's.

But you need to exercise, even if you are not as fit as you used to be. Get the bike back and keep trying!
