This is probably my favorite era of Alanis' career. For the longest time, FOE was my favorite of her albums, and while SFIJ and SPFITR have since overtaken it, I still think this was her most special era. The album itself was, and will always be incredible, but I'd argue the outtakes and cut tracks (Orchid, Break, 20/20, etc.) are some of her most impressive and open. I don't believe she could've written something like Orchid or Underneath or Tapes at any other point, giving this era so much more weight and brilliance.

Nice! A great piece of FOE era. Something about the Song not ready to sell is poetic.

I've always hoped that one day, the Guy Sigsworth productions of the Havoc and Bright Lights songs would surface - you know, the ones that must have existed before the other producer got involved. I've always thought that's where the production problems started. I bet the original versions sound cleaner and more like Flavors of Entanglement.

Taylor Holloway, I feel absolutely the opposite. FOE is my least favorite album of Alanis.

@Taylor Holloway Yeah I have to agree. And if I remember correctly, Guy worked on the HABL songs first before they brought in the 2nd producer to add more natural/guitar sounds? I bet Guy's initial mixes, however digital and synthetic, sounded great. That's why I'd love to hear them.

The percussion reminds me of a Boston band outdoing their vocalist on every song. I love Alanis, just not this song.
