@Demonic Sweaters The most forward thinking, phenomenal TV show has less than 800 subscribers. I enjoy a few of the shows, but what a WASTE!! This year would have been a PERFECT year to bring back videos. NEW videos. They would likely be STUPID. A lot of “stylistic” (🤮) bull-shenanigans that made no sense to any but the pretentious, ridiculously disturbed director...quite like “abstract” painting where you throw paint at a canvas, give it a monumental, imposing, prodigious title that sounds dramatic and vaguely impressive, like...”The Stars Wept in January” (copyright “The Other Side”, all rights reserved...look for my future masterpiece or poem, or novel, or album)...blah blah, “The Stars Wept in January”, (or Demonic Sweaters!! Good One!!!), make up a story about watching your Father drown a bag of kittens, and watch it sell for millions. (WHO ARE THE PEOPLE THAT BUY THAT tomfoolery ? (Sorry...I just love that word. 😮😲🙄😁😁😁). My point WAS...I agree, but it would have been a GREAT year to revamp, and the whiny little Reddit Doctors (you know, the teens diagnosing each other with personality disorders and sociopathy after reading a few Reddit posts...likely by other whiny teens 😠😡🙄🙄🙄🤮 admit it...you know a few! ) would be SO into w.e. nonsense they slapped together the night before, while watching Seinfeld reruns.

well... to me this interview is really a heart-warming experience. I haven't seen this in full unto now, being a fan since the late 90s and given what I / we know about her career now her attitude at that time is really inspiring. it really breaks my heart (again) to know how she'd been / how she'd felt at the end of the JLP tour that was to follow :( ... still, knowing how she's grown to be the artist she is today, I often fancy the thought of having a time machine at my disposal, being able to be there at these occasions, giving her a high-five or a hug or something :-) so, yeah I second that!

I wonder how much the interviewers had listened to the album? A lot of us were blown away the first time we heard it. I’m an old man and I was old (relatively) when it came out. I was so shocked that a young woman was so self-aware, poetic and musically brilliant all at the same time. I still think it is one of the great albums of the 90s. When I think of the 90s I think of Nirvana and Alanis Morissette. Jagged little pill is an amazing album and she’s truly an iconic artist. I can’t wait To play this album again for my adult daughters.

Some of you will find it hard to believe, but MTV once really was a music channel, and amazing at times. This. Some utterly historic Unplugged concerts, that no outlet has ever been able to duplicate or match. I remember other interviews too - for some reason Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) jumps to mind. I remember starting in 1981 ... I remember all the original "Veejays" ... hearing the MTV "theme song" with the rocket ship animation, and literally being excited. It was a part of my life. Jump to the 2000s, and I wouldn't watch if you paid me. It really was special in that time gone by.

After serious thought I decided she is my favorite female artist. A close second is Sheryl Crow, both are talented in a super human kind of way to me. To me, impressive music has the "wow factor" such as I strived for when I was a professional musician myself. Greatness with being different and unique. Jagged Little Pill music is a winner in both writing and vocal delivery. Watching this interview now I am impressed with her beauty and personality. What a cool lady she is and deserves her success. I hope she can continue the quality of her "Jagged Pill" content in the future projects.

Avril Lavigne may have looked-up to Alanis but she could never touch her. Avril Lavigne is a poser, plain and simple.
@s0me0ne1se2 жыл бұрын
I have this theory that the industry was looking out for the next Alanis Morissette when they saw the direction her second album and subsequent tours were heading to… They wanted more of the angry punk rock and Alanis wasn’t in that place anymore so they quickly looked out for a replacement and they found this chick with similar vocal capacity, fabricated Avril the product with dark makeup, doll face, trendy clothes and accessories and everything, and put her on high rotation. When I started hearing about her I KNEW instantly people who have heard the singles and watched the videos of Jagged Little Pill shallowly without really listening or even buying the record or giving a follow up of her development would fall for the industry trap, and they did; and forgot about Alanis, the original style maker and influencer of that female post alternative era. She was already in another place and the music industry always wants money, flashy, younger, “sexier” and appealing things so they let her go and stuck with Avril and all of that “punk sk8ter boi” idiocy afterwards. Avril doesn’t even have her own style, since she’s not an original one she’s been jumping from sub genre to sub genre. That’s where you can point out where the authenticity remains. And agree with the comment she maybe has a good voice (again very stylistically similar to Alanis) but I have never ever heard of anyone talking seriously about any deep meaning to her lyrics or even music. It’s obvious her hits were written for her by other composers.
