The BIG ethical problem with Enhanced Inject

Inject is a powerful app for creating some real miracles and it's on the phones of thousands of magicians. Greg Rostami has created an absolutely killer tool and I use it daily with integrations with other magic apps such as Hydra and Peeksmith. Greg has released "Enhanced Inject" to some serious controversy over the ethics of magic and what we should and shouldn't be able to do in magic. I want to talk about my problems with the newest version and why I think it opens a dangerous door I don't think we should be walking down as magicians.

I personally don't really get the fuss about it. People are creating lucky numbers on fake calculators and peek PINs etc. without consent (no, only because they input or write it somewhere when being asked to they're not "willingly" letting you look at that information or consenting to you accessing it) and without seeing any issue but here suddenly a few people go crazy about transmitting a birthday, name and phone number (information people are willingly sharing with many websites, hence the use of AutoFill). Everyone holding your phone can access that information on any website providing a fill-out form. Mentalism is about trust and about responsible performers. This goes for the usage of "phishing" webites, billet peeks and now the AutoFill peek alike. I'm assuming it's because Inject is catering towards quite a large crowd including many magicians (and not only mentalists), who are for the first time confronted with the moral question of mentalism and peeking personal information in general.

Didnt know about this new version. Well, that's phishing and it's forbidden in most western countries. for good reasons.

It just dropped about 8 hours ago, and I agree. It's something that a lot of the community seems to have no problem with, arguments range from, we phish already to "we're all magicians, it's not like we're criminals or something" and I'm sorry but the moment you start stealing information from people without their knowledge or consent, I think you become a criminal...

@@TheMagicMinute well think about what's possible with this in the wrong hands. Stealing the private address of someone or their phone number can be very useful for stalkers. I can also imagine that the inject website will be blocked by Google or other companies for the potential fraudulent usage.

@@ms11-p4m exactly. While we'd all like to think that everyone using the app is a good person with moral boundaries, we know that's naive.

I think you are 100% correct. That is an ethical line that should not be crossed. Kudos for taking a moral stance!

Does the app work on any phone? like An ipad mini for example with wifi or data?

The app will work just fine on an ipad connected to wifi, the question is, what is the use case you're intending? I might be able to help point you in the right direction if I know the reason for wanting to run it on an ipad.

Greg Rostami has made a statement regarding the "Autofill" feature I want to share with everyone who watched this video: From Greg Rostami: What happened to AutoFill in Enhanced Inject? Ever since the Enhanced Inject trailer video last night, I've had MANY discussions regarding the AutoFill feature and how it's an invasion of privacy for your spectators. Based on these discussions, and your posts, Gui and I agree that the combination of AutoFill and our Google page can be abused by some of our customers in malicious ways. This will make your spectators very uncomfortable and jeopardize the future of Inject. We have decided to change the way that AutoFill works, so that it's a LOT better than what we showed you in the video, without giving the magician any of the spectator's critical private information. We firmly believe that what we've come up with is the BEST compromise that you will really love. These changes obviously delay the release of Enhanced Inject, but we think they are really worth the wait (and are necessary). Sorry for being cryptic about what the new AutoFill is, but once it's ready, we'll show it to you in a new video. I'm not sure how useful the "NEW" autofill is, as it only gives access to name and age. Name..is easy enough to learn when you meet someone and age....next to a useless metric in my opinion. I think the feature should just be removed entirely. What do you think?

Ummm...yeah, this is really, really, really dangerous. Just tested it out, and I can obtain Credit Card Information....all of it. Rostami Magic is risking so much with this feature.
