Was blessed to visit Amsterdam a few times in my travels. Fun times and GREAT people. Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht and Den Haag. I can see why Al loves this place. It always seemed to have had a great vibe and was a really special place in the 90's and early -later 2000's when I visited. If you know, you know 💯

Kind of the opposite trajectory that this comment described, but I agree that there was a lot we couldn’t have seen coming. It seemed like he’d reached a certain peak in like ‘04, and I wouldn’t have guessed that some of his best music was still coming like 10-20 years later

Anthony Bourdain is smiling down on you, you tireless genius. The way you relate the greatness of the art reminds me of my first hip hop show... Common Sense as he was called at the time in a small Northern New England club where an entire live band supported him, after The X-ecutioners then Rahzel got the crowd pretty warmed up. When he spit Hunger it was like time stopped or something. Which is why we can forever suffer no whack MC's. Amen.
