Polite & gentlemanly yes but not an OBJECTIVE journalist keen on getting to the bottom of reasons behind events his questions threw light on. He sounds more like an appeaser. I am not saying that he should've made Ms. Hussein uncomfortable or coerce her into explaining the decision father made (good or bad) but the least he could have done was find out EXACTLY the reason why Hussein Kamel made the fatal decision to defect to Jordan (a subject they talked about). This woman is a witness to events and most likely knows the EXACT reasons behind those decisions which affected the middle east for decades to come and the post cold war world. The journalist brilliantly wasted this once in a 50 years interview by not pressing a little harder. He could have uncovered much more without making her uncomfortable. Please note that Miss. Hussein doesn't live in a free country. She may not speak again. But it is a pleasant interview, just not very informative. I hope she writes a book which the Jordanians don't censor.

Just because they were different personalities and interests etc. doesn't mean they weren't close their entire lives. Bc they certainly were, to the extent such a complex and severely dysfunctional family could be. They didn't hang out together for shits but what brothers do let alone, again in THAT particular family. They weren't any closer at the end of their lives when they died, it's just that they were in the same place, hiding out, on the run, they had to stick together bc to split up would have been moronic and they didn't have a whole hell of a lot of options at that point

A great interview...at first I thought the journalist was being too evasive by not asking her the most important questions.......why did Raghad chose the side of her father instead of her husband and did she lure him back from Jordan knowing he would be executed. He also subtly reminded her that as perpetual dictator,Sadaam had the ultimate decision on Kamals life or death as he was his son in law, father to his grandchildren,a senior general and his second in command before his defection....its sad she wanted to avoid a bloodbath but in the end it was very bloody for the whole Saddam family......my question is,...was it all worth it?
