Well, I am interested in theory behind it. Being European, but actively practicing Hindustani music for almost 25 years (amateurishly), I got hooked to Carnatic & Bharatanatyam too on my last visit to India 3 years ago. I thought understanding North Indian music idioms would make understanding Southern ones a breeze, but not so. Southern music (and dance) seems to be much more complicated. I do understand roughly how Bharatanatyam Margam is put together (Pushpanjali, Alarippu, Jaiswaram etc...), some gestures used for Abhinaya, I am even beginning to see the differences between Kalakshetra (Pandanallur?) and Melatur styles (no wonder, since I have spent considerable time watching videos of those two styles). Generally, there is lot of info on Bharatanatyam available, but is wildly dispersed, even in books written by Western authors (which tend to have a bit more systematic approach than Indians). Putting everything together is complicated. So if you can use some of your time to create such an explanatory video, I would really appreciate it. It would help me to put some more pieces into my Bharatanatyam puzzle. For Carnatic music (ragam, tanam, palavi, jatis, talas, Konakhol etc..), luckily I have some other sources to bug for. Even in my country. I have been on your YT channel and Instagram profile several times before. Obviously I like it, since I am coming back. I am generally not very prolific "Like" giver on social media, but hey - I am boosting your "Been watched" numbers. If getting more "Likes" for your videos would make you happy, I can oblige ;-) Regards, Benjamin

Absolutely lovely! Thank you for this ! Your form is perfection! Is it my naïveté or does Misra Alarippu look easier than Kanda Alarippu 😂😜…. Also would it be possible to request Sankeerna Alarippu?

Thank you so much:) I’m going to do both chaturashra and sankeerna alarippu soon! Misram probably looks easier because of the 3+4, 4 gives the ease and a slow feel compared to Khanda 5, where it probably feels more continuous..
