Use Home Assistant and Alarmo to automatically set the alarm when you leave the house. Never forget to set the alarm again!

Hey Ben, nice video! Keep them coming! For your automation instead of checking for each person in a zone, you could also trigger when the 'count' of people in the zone is 0 or more than 0. This means you wont need the extra condition to check if the other person ia still home.

💡 That's a good point, and it scales if I add more people as well. Thanks!

Nice, looking forward to more - like the level of detail.

Thanks! I'm still figuring out the sort of content I want to make for the channel. There's probably going to be a mix of technical and fun content.

Any recommendations whether to use Google smart speakers or Amazon to have a "smart siren" that can tell for example whats happening. Like a "break-in in progress" or "fire in living room" etc.. I was thinking for a siren but perhaps add few speakers aswell ? Echos or Nest mini's

I personally use Google Home's dotted around the house. You can use home assistant to set the volume on them pretty easily, and you can also make it play an MP3 followed by Text to Speech. That would let you play a little alert and then inform you of what's happening

I followed the steps but I can not get the Alarmo to show on the left column like yours shows?

Mine just to happen to fit on the screen that way, but you could try a horizontal stack card - maybe that would help: www.home-assistant.io/dashboards/horizontal-stack/

@@BensSmartHomeIdeas Thank you. I got it working. Now I just have to get some kinks ironed out with the Konnected board and the new ESPHome firmware it is running. Must say the tech support at Konnected is awesome if anyone is thinking of going that route.
