@SuperTruckman1 Wait what. So if I don't watch how Chicago fights fires and fight how i was trained, then I'm not a real fireman? However I'm sure you comment was directed at a few comments below which i didnt care to read. I think they did a damn good job, even more so on the second floor with those heavy smoke conditions! Thats no easy task for any interior crew! Then think about them having to do it with the old styel gear (long coat no bunkers), I respect them for that alone! Stay safe

That roof crew was taking a big chance up there. No mask. Roof self vented. Putting water down that vent hole. Not a MM QB just thinking safety.

I'm with you, fire is already vented out the window. I'm an old school, 22 year veteran, of a career department, dying or getting severely injured to make a little bigger vent hole is futile. CFD is an awesome department and I have tons of respect for their Brothers, we just need to work safer and smarter, that's all.

Hi again. Check out my comments on part one then come back for more fun. Remember I said they LET that room burn too long and it has now spread into the attic? Surprise! Instead of just a couple of rooms burned out, now the entire building is destroyed. 10 seconds of water through the windows and then go in to mop up and it's over. This is Typical America!

see how the fire is in the attic? that doesnt mean they arent working, fire spreads. that fire was already going and already made some headway before those guys got there with the way it seems, they knocked it down and it went up like you said...BUT remember how the STEAM was coming out the windows in part 1? the fire was kindling and growing, now here the attic is nearly fully involved, so it made way upstairs and got going. the fire coming out the holes is EXACTLY why the brothers were on the roof with axes.

Anthony. Think about this. All that fire needs is someone on that floor putting water on what is burning. Or, with that window right there, put the water on it that way. The only thing they are accomplishing is risking their lives and helping the house burn better. Put water on it.

i see exactly what you mean, but that end that you see blowing out the window, isnt the main body or the fuel that is actually burning. 4 methods to extinguishment, one of them is to cool the burning fuel. with the flame thats coming out the window, putting water on that does nothing. i would hope there is a crew on the line moving in to go upstairs. once they can see whats burning then they put water on whatever it is thats burning. that orange part is just vapors. you gotta cool the hot fuel which is producing the vapors.
