Depending on his charge, and outcome, I feel that man would be a great counselor when he gets out. Seems very level headed and truly regretful while accepting this is what happens. I know he feels awful and has remorse. I’d have a beer with that man any day.

My heart ached for the older gentleman, I even teared up a bit. Even though he wasn’t meant to be the target of the attack, but he still was a bystander basically at the wrong spot at the wrong time, and therefore accidentally took the punch/beating too. Hopefully if James ever sees my comment that I wish him all the best for him and his family, much blessings for him, there are many people that are with him, and that he can move on with life and be happy again. How the officer handled the inmate wearing tight clothes was perfect. He treated him with respect and he somewhat gave respect back. I'm retired law enforcement and worked a few years at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Claiborne Parish and my grandfather ran the Louisiana Chain Gang back in the 1930's and that's how you deal with prisoners until you have to get tough.

The guy in Portland talks about seasonal depression but you guys, that really IS a thing. It's called Seasonal Affective Disorder and those who have it are much more sensitive to seasonal changes between summer and winter than most people. I have it and have to manage it with a combination of medication, therapy, and full-spectrum lighting I have to sit under during the winter that mimics the amount of light I'd get during summer or I go right off the rails. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains and is gray, gray, gray for much of the fall, winter, and early spring (our summers are GLORIOUS, though, and kind of make up for the rest of it), so having my full-spectrum bulbs and such really helps. I'd move but the weather here is pretty civilized unlike where I grew up (deep South) and I like the scenery. If meds and fancy lights are the ticket to doing that, sign me up. LOL

For context here: The elderly guy was caught in a fight and got hurt in the process, he was treated though, the meds was only there to stop the pain in his nose, they stopped the bleeding which is good. Some people in jail don't want to fight back in person, the elderly guy didn't deserve to get hit at all, he just got caught in the middle of a fight during chow time. In jail, some prisoners get health insurence they need, they have nurses there that help with that stuff.

Yeah. Older people need there own wing. This happens all the time. I was in jail a few hours over no car insurance and a 62 year old dude was in there over failure to pay child support because he was on a fixed income. And this other kid was in with us over DUI, the old man asked the kid if he could be quiet for awhile because it's a concrete room, and the dude beat the old guy up basically out of his clothes. And if u know jail u don't jump into a fight ur not in bcuz u don't want more charges than u came in with. So I just watched this old man get choked out his d*** and stuff flopping all over the place. Crazy.

When I was in jail me and other people would pay $20 to see a nurse to try to get something for a 🦷 tooth ake and the nurse would say what do want Roxy's, quit milking it your not getting Tylenol or anything
