Alaska is an unforgiving land where the line between life and death is often invisible, but for the adventurous hunter, the experience of a lifetime awaits you. Join veteran Alaskan guide Billy Molls on a 65-day quest as he and his clients pursue Dall sheep, caribou, and grizzly bear in the high country of the arctic, moose in the vast remote tundra of central Alaska, and giant brown bear on the Alaska peninsula. For more than four hours you will experience the dangers and excitement of hunting in Alaska like you have never seen before.

Dear Billy...so thankful for your words of hope through Our Lord Jesus Christ. The depression you were in and came out of made you the man's man you are today so you are able to guide others and be a conduit for Our Lord to reach out to others. A heartfelt THANK YOU from a little old grandma in Switzerland who so thoroughly enjoys your you tube episodes. Blessings to you and your lovely family. Sendings hugs!

I couldn't go out hunting this season because of a major surgery, all I can do is watch hunting videos. I found your Chanel and have bee watching it. You're a good man. In this video, I was so in the hunt-like I was there. I was so happy when Barry got his bear that I was yelling. My wife came running in the room thinking something happened to me and I said, I'm fine, Barry got his bear. She turned away mumbling, boys will be boys. You're awesome, Billy!

Bill Arne here 77 yrs. You and I both know about Bigfoot. I be had 5 run-ins with the Indian cross ape. I had a 4ft juvenile come to me for protection in Baldwin Michigan. He was so afraid My panic fear left me. He walked behind me all afternoon and I protected the little guy. When I came back to camp my friend and fellow scout master ask me what is he. I told him what it was for my dad was a DNR Game Warden in 30/40’s. He taught me their ways and Indian language ancient. We fed the little Guy 4ft tall. He ate 1lb steak. We wondered where was his mom and dad. 2 months before us rifle season was over 600,000 gun hunters. For two weeks. We figured rifle hunters killed his mom and dad. Once he ate one pound steak he left. We hunted 3 more days and never saw heard smelled him again. We will never forget his desperation and fear for help! I’m now 77 yrs in Hospice care for pain. What good memories. After that I had 4 more run ins with the big guy. Never shot at any. Remember they are totally wild and can be . 😎🇺🇸🇨🇦 Michigan

Try a piece of Kodiak bear meat and you'll know why. Even the Alaska Natives in the villages seldom eat bear meat. My son was a guide for over twenty five years on Kodiak. He said that, mostly out of custom, some of the older women in the villages, in the Spring, will eat a little meat from a young bear, but that's about it. He brought me some backstrap from a young bear one Spring and I fried it up and ate a little. Not very good.

The hunts were pretty good until... (54:24) "We left some little bit of trash we had and our seats and a tarp". My guess is that there was no plan to go back and get that stuff to carry it out. One thing that irritates me the most when hunting, is finding trash from other hunters. From the first day I ever started hunting, if I carry it in, I carry it out. There is no reason to leave trash in a place that beautiful!

You spoke a couple of times about "these days in Alaska" regarding moose. I take it by your enfurance that finding a legal moose big enough for guided hunts are becoming more difficult to find.. Is that because not enough bear and wolves are being targeted by guided hunters?
@moderndaymountainman8130
@moderndaymountainman8130 8 ай бұрын
It was definitely a combination of factors. This area saw an explosion of moose, 20 years earlier, and with that game, the wolf population. Once the food value in the area was reduced, the wolves were left with fewer moose to eat. Largely just a natural cycle I feel.

As a former rifle and pistol shooter, I know how bullets behave. of course we often see that to kill a bear they fire even 10 shots and all this incredible waste usually happens because the weight of the bullet is too low, for a bear you need at least 250 grains then some hunters shoot too far away, you shouldn't shoot above the 200 meters because the risk of making a mistake, even by a lot, the place where you hit the animal is too high so give up and wait for the moose or bear to come closer, I would say 100 / 150 meters should be the maximum limit to ensure a good result. The hunter should know that shooting in the taiga is not like shooting, the risk factors are many and then the emotion, the instability etc., what's the point of shooting from 500 meters when I know that shooting from 300 meters at the range and with a specialized shooting rifle it is not easy because even the smallest error at that distance multiplies greatly even if the shooting target remains fixed and still while the bear could move and the bullet always takes a few tenths of a second to cover those distances.

@@kennardjohnson7875 Certainly you could kill even with a 22 lr caliber if you managed to hit the heart directly but in fact when you are hunting unfortunately you make mistakes very often perhaps due to emotion perhaps fear or something else and by making mistakes you create a danger for everyone those who are around especially if we wound a bear and for example in Alaska, if you are too far away it is difficult to remedy because the plantigrade can hide in some gully which is then difficult and dangerous to go and look for to finish it for this reason I say that it is better to shoot from distances shorter to be able to at least fire 2 or 3 shots, where those bears live the landscape is full of bushes and small trees which literally prevent you from identifying even a large bear that is hiding.
