I took an Alaskan cruise in June & the temp never got to 60 degrees for the entire trip. Cruise staff told us the week before was 80 degrees so you're so right to pack for all weather

I’m so excited for your cruise. We did a cruise back in September 2010 and completely over packed expecting crazy cold weather. I hope you booked a balcony room, cruising just isn’t as fun without a private balcony to enjoy your coffee and breakfast on in the AM. One night we went up to the top deck around midnight, out in the middle of nowhere, just to look up at the stars.. coming from a big metroplex it was breathtaking to see a truly black night sky with so many more stars than I can see from home.

We took the Alaska cruise with Princess several years ago in July and added on the land portion. Also upgraded to balcony cabin..well worth it! It was wonderful. Glacier Bay was awesome….reason we chose Princess. Enjoy!

Pack some Imodium. Went to London this past Christmas and ended up so sick and in bed for 2 days with stomach problems. I'll never travel without Imodium again. Enjoy the trip. Looking forward to seeing the pictures!

I always pack a “pharmacy” bag no matter where I go. Contents: pepto bismol, Imodium, Tylenol, allergy meds, Gravol, bandaids, personal prescription meds, aloe Vera, sunscreen. Maybe more depending on where we are going.

I did a AK cruise during September. It was rainy but not unbearably cold. We got on the boat in Seattle wearing shorts, on glacier day it was three layers plus gloves and beanies 😂. But on average I was okay in jeans, shirt and raincoat/hoodie. I had rain pants but never actually wore them.

Been on the majestic princess last year from Sydney Australia to the Great Barrier Reef. Loved it, crew were amazing and enjoyed it so much. Loved the medallion. Allegro dining room is lovely. We always have a balcony especially since COVID is still around

Very rarely does she wear bright shades unless she needs to wear a particular colour for an event. Once again have an amazing time looking forward to see your vacation. ❤

This type of wardrobe makes it easy to dress. Almost all of my basic pieces are black, gray, white and beige. Add color with different tops or scarves. I used to buy clothes in all colors - too hard to manage.

Several years ago I did an Alaskan land and sea cruise on a Princess ship. I wish I could do it again, Alaska is sooo beautiful. We took a helicopter to the top of a glacier, it was amazing.. Libby Riddles came aboard ship and told us all about the iditarod, she is the first woman to win. Have a wonderful trip, I am jealous.💕

I get motion sickness when I go on cruise ships airplanes and the best thing that I've found is there bands that go around your wrist and there's a little metal piece that hits a pressure points they work really good. And you can usually purchase them at the airport on the cruise ship

Hi. We took an Alaskan cruise 4 years ago on Celebrity Eclipse. Flying from London to Vancouver. Went end of June beg July and weather was so so hot!!! Packed for all weathers, but most stayed in suitcase!!! Shorts and T-shirts every day!!!When back in Vancouver went on the Rocky Mountaineer ending our stay in Calgary - Amazing trip!! I did my Alaskan cruise 5 years ago. I had a great time, but did miss out on most excursions due to physical limitations but did have a riding scooter which helped greatly on the cruise ship and exploring a few ports. Riding through Ketchikan was really fun for me, zipping around on the scooter. Started journey and took the Alaska Railroad to Seward to meet the cruise ship. Have fun !

Just came back last week from a princess cruise. I am watching you pack and can tell you it was a very nice weather no rain and 50 degree days. I packed like you did and will never pack that much cloths again. I wore mostly my puffer jacket and a flannel shirt on shore excursions. Food was excellent and lots of it lol. I suggest to pack lighter they have a laundry on board. Also hope you picked the train ride in Skagway it was so beautiful. Not sure if you were told but the Skagway is a tender after their hill slide enjoy have fun

Wow i didnt know you had this storage under yoyr home? How do you get in and out. I saw no ladders or foot stools?I would really love to have a basement in my Bungalow but in the UK its not possible 😥 oh well never mind lol lol. Good Afternoon, again, Hamm Family. Same day, different video ❤️ It's 1pm. The sun is out. The temp is on it's way to it's 87°F peak... 81°F at the moment. My a/c is a-goin' ... Susan + Heat = a BIG FAT NO 🥵 I can't wait to get to your actual cruise video, but alas, at 1+ hours, it'll have to wait until tomorrow or Sunday. This busy bee is a-buzzin'. I know your trip will be and was amazing 🚢 I'm sitting here cringing as you gather suitcases. I'm always scared you're going to bonk your head and get a concussion or knock yourself out. Oy 😳 I'm 100% onboard with Mom and Dad testing the waters of a new form of travel before bringing the kids along, whether a cruise, out of country, across the states or closer to home, it's always good to work through the ins and outs, ups and downs. Did you pack too much or too little, what works and what doesn't, will the kids enjoy it or not, etc. Plus, sometimes Mom and Dad need a break, some quality time. Happy Anniversary Blessings... another reason to go it alone 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼 Glacier Bay... ✔️ Don't we all wish we could bring our FurBabies along? Maggie, Dakota and Ash always know when we're going on a trip or outing. Maggie will try to sneak into the SUV... though, sneaking is not easy for a 90lb Great Pyrenees Mix, aka, Polar Bear 🐻‍❄️ I must have Alaska DNA in my genes because I'm all about comfort: PJs, casual wear, lounging outfits, et al. Fancy is not in my vocabulary, unless absolutely required... even then I may protest. If I can be barefoot, it's even better 🧬 Nice to see that I'm not the only one who thinks ahead and is prepared for anything when packing. Our annual Sukkot trip is absolutely planned out ahead: Mark's drum kit, my scooter, schedules and itineraries, meals, etc. 🧾 Luna says, "I'm ready to be packed Mom. Don't forget my toys and treats." 😸 I typically don't get motion sickness. I only remember having it once on a huge ship (an overnight ferry). Best to be prepared. I pray you're motion sickness free. I can empathize. Nausea and I are not friends 🤢 Glad you're spending quality time with the boys before shipping out. Mark and I always prepared a "family date night" with Bry when we went away without him 🍿 Bye Miss Luna. Take good care of the GrandFolks and the boys while Mom and Dad are away. I am wanting to come from Australia to Alaska . I am wanting to travel light . But with 2 cameras. I will get gumbboots lined with real wool. I can knit my own socks. I only own 1 pair of track suit pants. Didn't even think of those until you mentioned it. I thought take less and buy a pair of pants when i get there. 😂😂

Hi Lauren, I enjoyed your Alaska cruise packing video. My husband & I have done 6 (😳) Alaskan cruises & Loved each & every one of them! I’m sure our 1st trip I packed just like you are doing- BUT truely you are overpacking 😅. Having to lug & watch over several heavy suitcases is not fun. After our 1st trip (& seeing how many items we never used😮) we trimmed down to 1 small suitcase each & it’s been perfect! Just one other thought you might want to think about- if you do take multiple suitcases & All your Shoes are in one & it gets “ lost” - you will be stuck wearing the same shoes everywhere . @@ThisAlaskaLife I definitely had too much packed before we left for the airport. After checking last minute weather, I pulled my rain pants and a fleece out of my suitcase. I didn't use my gloves, scarf or hat but, didn't want to leave them (just in case). I did pack too many shirts and pants since we did laundry half way through the cruise.

Your video is extremely helpful, based on your knowledge of Alaskan weather. My husband and I are talking about an Alaskan cruise in a year or two (we already have a Mediterranean cruise planned for later this year, so the Alaskan cruise will come later.) We live in a part of Texas where it doesn't get extremely cold (only rarely) so packing for Alaska is a challenge. It will give me a good reason to buy some warmer things ... and your advice about layering is excellent! Hope y'all have a great time!
