If you are driving to Alaska, then the main question you will have to answer is if you would like to do the Stewart-Cassiar or the Alaska Highway. We recommend that you do both and go up on and down the other. However, if you are trying to pick just one and deciding between the two, here are our thoughts on both drives.

I was driving back home, and I heard a notification from KZbin. What a great surprise that you posted a video today. Got home and watched it while eating my delicious tacos 😅 it’s always nice to see you, Josh and Pops!… Great video, one day I’m going to drive one of those roads, or both! 🙌🏽

We did a 60 day RV tour this summer, drove the Alcan north (with a detour to Dawson City and the Top of the World Hwy) going to Alaska and the Cassiar Hwy on our return. I agree both have their own uniqueness. Thanks for your great videos.

Great to see a new upload five minutes after I just went through your last live stream video. I stayed on the couch and watched it. Just love this channel. Thank you. It seems from the lifestream you guys didn’t take Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay? Would definitely recommend that drive. Would be an epic 1000-mile round trip from Fairbanks.

Drove from south Florida with college buddy. He was from Ohio so that's kind of the route we took. Wish we'd enjoyed the sights along the trip more. Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota South Dakota(Wall Drug and Mt Rushmore) Wyoming(side trip to Devil's Tower and Yellowstone) Montana. Entered Canada from Montana playing Getty Lee singing Great White North (Take Off) Calgary and Edmonton to the AlCan and on to Anchorage. Ended up staying a year instead of just summer. New friend from Portland so we drove down Cassiar Hwy. Hwy was either gravel or dirt until we got near Prince George. Camped in a couple places cause we had no clue what we were doing. Just inside Canada and on Lake Louise (?) Beautiful. Hell's Gate on Frazier River. Went trough Hope where 1st Rambo was filmed. Into Vancouver and the Seattle where Great Aunt and Uncle lived.

I experienced this trip in 2018 on a motorcycle. North on the Cassier south on the Alcan. Too many tourists in slow rv convoys on the alcan. But the Cassier was far preferable.

You guys should drive the Dalton Highway aka Haul road to North Slope north of Fairbanks. We did it in 2009 and it was amazing!

🤦‍♀Dudes, you are supposed to be making my planning easier! 😆I've already had to put restrictions on myself... absolutely no lollygagging until I pass under the Alaska sign... or, I'll get there by my 65th birthday, not 62nd! Since I'm taking the ferry system out of AK, towards OR (US-20 trip to MA), I'll have to make another trip along the Canadian Highway and then these other detours!

IMO - in spring/early summer when for the most part ALL the A class rigs are taking the Alaska Hwy north & you don't want to be stuck behind these behemoths . You gonna wanna take the SC north. & of course the reverse applies in late summer. So when I am going to the Yukon in late April I will be taking the SC. When I return 1.5 months later I will take the Alcan as the A class's will "generally" still be going north. I was going south on the Alcan in mid June 2007. I met at least 100 big RV rigs (all towing cars) a day plodding there way north. No thank you.

We live on northern Vancouver Island but road trip and camp extensively in northern BC, Yukon and Northwest Territories. We know both roads well and my pick would be the Cassiar. Same as you tho, the Alcan is not far behind. Two points; our wild life sightings seem to be dependent on the amount of gas/oil exploration going in in the area and if it is hunting season or not. Our record on the Cassiar, 11 bears in one day. All close up and healthy, rolly polly good bears. Second: I differentiate between tourists and travelers. Nothing wrong with tourists but you two are travelers. I'd love to share a campfire and a meal, swap some stories.

Hello. I'm watching from Japan. Thanks you for showing us a lot beautiful sight . You as humans live with respect for wild nature. However, recently Japanese local governments are killing bear families when they come down from the mountains. They do not harm humans. I'm sad.
