I appreciate a fishing show that actually shows catches. I get so annoyed with so many that post fishing videos to KZbin, that seem to think people want to watch 15 minutes of them reeling in a fish. Your videos are much more entertaining to watch. Thank you.

I was 300th thumbs up..and there’s 256 comments! Wow! That’s Huge! (257 now 🙂) Great filmography, beautiful fish! 👍🎣 Loved the shotgunned beer at the end, last time I did that was in High school..45 years ago 😂 I had to quit drinking 5 years ago, but I drank more than most so no problem here. Love watching people having a great time! Thanks for all you do Ben! Have a Huge week!🍻✌️

The Steelhead in the Great Lakes came from the Pacific Northwest. We still have them here, albeit in lower numbers then in the past.
@Hrogthar
@Hrogthar 3 жыл бұрын
@@4stringmanagmaildcom My joke was that your 'steelhead' are rainbows. And that's okay. Because the fish in this video are rainbows too. A steelhead, by definition, is anadromous. Which means they live in salt water for a period of their life and come back to fresh water. The great lakes are not salt water.

I'm real curious about your hook set. Obviously it's run, grab, and fish dependent, but here in the PNW we will usually let a steelhead chew on that fly for a bit before we lift the rod. You're hitting those fish hard as soon as they grab, what's the reasoning there? Was that the advice from the guide? Is it because those are non migratory fish versus steelhead? Although I can't think what difference that would make.
@HugeFlyFisherman
@HugeFlyFisherman 3 жыл бұрын
It’s mostly because I don’t know what I’m doing, but it’s also because those fish slammed the shit out the fly and hooked themselves.
