Same. I think Joseph is really great at asking questions straight up and digging into someone's history. Most (if not all) people on the spectrum I know appear disingenuous when making fun of social/cultural cues, it feels off because they don't understand them to start with.

@@alishasnecklace On a base-level not everyone is going to like a popular queen just because they're popular. Just as many people love Willam, many aren't fans of hers either. A lot of people seem to think Willam over exaggerates gossip a lot so that's part of why some dislike her.

I was NOT a fan of Drag Race… AT ALL! However… over time, I became big fans of Alaska and Willam. Which then led me to their podcasts. Hearing them discuss Drag Race, got me going back to watch the older episodes that they discussed. I did that until I finally caught myself watching the new seasons. Short story, long. I’m now a big fan of Drag Race and W.OW. have Alaska, Willam and the wildly entertaining, Race Chaser podcast, from M.O.M., to thank for that. Fantastic interview! Thank you!!

Of course you make new friends at any age I guess it's sad commentary if Joseph thinks you don't but who live and learn. That said different friends provide one with different needs You may have some that you sleep with You may have some that are really great to watch movies with cook dinner with and then you have others that are just really great social friends They're fun if you go to clubs events barbecues parades that sort of thing They feel different niches because we are very complex people and yes you may have one to maybe three in a lifetime good friends that can check off all of those boxes for you and more importantly you check off all those boxes for them and that's terrific anyway I will step off my soapbox now but never sell yourself short people and never sell other people short friendship is not a black and white issue there's lots of gray

My favorite drag queen on the face of the earth: 👠 Alaska 💄!!! Joseph Shepherd did a fantastic job here. 🎉 He is 🔥 hot🔥, number one, and it fills the HEY QWEEN sized hole in my heart that Johnny McGovern and Lady Red 🍒 left in the ending of the progrumm. Excellent work from one Joseph to another. The MOM PODCAST network never quits. My faves include Very Delta, Very That, Hello Jinkx, Padge Pod, Unpluckingtons, Hottular Gossingtines, AND THE MOTHER THAT STARTED THEM ALL: Racem' Chasem's. The only thing that got me through the Pamela-Demique was looking forward to meeting Alaska in Philly for the long awaited RED 4 FILTH 💋 TOUR. It really changed my life in a meaningful way. Alaska, you ate. You were so kind, and as I walked in as you started rehearsing and sound checking I soon realized I was the only attendee that got the ~💰💵 Ultimate Red 4 FILTH VIP Experience 💵💰~ and I got to spend one on one time with you for an extended period of time before the show. Worth every. Single. Penny. You signed my custom Race Chaser phone case. Sorry to say I can't listen to "22" because it literally makes me cry. Reading your book and hearing your relatable story was so inspiring. I felt like I was reading a story about my childhood and growing up. Drawing the sex kitten👄, super pop star woman you wanted to be/ design was intensely relatable. Your message and contribution to the art of drag makes me feel I can be someone too. I don't have to be anything I don't want to be. Even in my 30s🧓💃🏻, when I usually feel like there's no time left, I see you shining and doing what makes you happy. Thanks for a little inspiration and relatability. 🥹😶🌫️🫠 NO FOAM HE-AH!

Adults need and want to escape to Adultland without thoughts of children. Please 😊 Alaska and Willam are smart queens. They are professionals. They love their craft. This is the side of drag that we adults appreciate. Joseph is a grand host 😉 Drag should promote, not push. The under-18 crowd? They have enough to keep them entertained! Please talk to these silly suburban women who can't afford babysitters. Talk them out of bringing their toddlers into the drag world because the parents want to party. If they want to introduce their kids to gay culture, put them in dance class. Every dance teacher I had as a kid was gay 😊 They can explore their talents from there. As a straight, Libertarian female fan of drag for over 40 years, I'm asking M.o.M., please help get things back to normal. Make it make sense again. I came to know drag through the early days of television: variety shows, and revues. I found RL drag as an adult in bars... as one should 😉 Today, children are not exposed to "female/male impersonation" which is sans sexualization of the material (with the exception of Mrs. Kasha Davis, et al.). There are no Ed Sullivans or Carol Burnetts out there anymore. I learned about the history of theater in grade school. From England to Japan, the fact that women weren't allowed on the stage fascinated me. Straight actors also played female roles, a great opening volley for cross-dressers, lol. Who is teaching kids today, whether it's about biology and sexuality, or acceptance and love? We are not being fair to the children. Or the adults. Sorry for the rant, but good CBD gummies and first cuppa... sometimes, I can't help myself 😂

I don’t think you realize, if a kid is going to a drag show, the kid is probably the fan (if they’re a teen), I begged my mom to take me to werq the world.
@kelpo6304 Жыл бұрын
I think drag is good for kids. an 18+ show should be respected, but childcare is a privilege in this day and age. sometimes I feel like this sentiment that you can't bring kids to queer spaces is used as a subtle way to exclude women, who are more likely to be a single parent or the main childcare provider. I also firmly believe it's great for kids to get into age-appropriate drag. drag is not inherently sexual, it's performance art that plays with gender. also, some queens like working with kids bc, shockingly, queers are humans and many humans have a natural instinct to help human children. not all drag is raunchy, a lot of it is, and it all has its place. I don't think all drag needs to be kid-friendly but I also don't think all drag needs to be like, "fuck the kids (fuck the moms)." at the same time, i really hope we don't go back down the path of having to make queer sexuality seem subdued, sterile and non-threatening. I don't think that framing drag as totally desexualized and safe is the right strategy, because we may win a battle or two (undoing drag bans because drag is seen as a dangerous expression of sexuality) but we'll lose the war (queer sexuality is natural and all gender diversity has a right to exist). pls I'm not ready for another generation of "I'm not one of THOSE gay guys," haven't we suffered enough internalized homophobia 😭 some of the best people in the world have been flamers
