Angel Rocks Hike, Mountain Water, Solar Backpack, & Unboxing- My Alaska Life

In this video I review an Energizer Solar Backpack, hike up Angel Rocks in Interior Alaska, and unbox this month's Nomadik box and a special gift from Brad and Josh Richardson of Timberlee Tool & Trade. It was an awesome hike with amazing views of the Chena River Valley! And to top it off with snacks and unboxing at the top.... WOW! Love Love Love this video! I know it was 4 years ago, just seeing it now. The hike up the mountain with the pink wild roses, my favorite! Finding the wild sage and other wild plants, LOVE! Cool, replenishing , and thirst quenching mountain sweet water to drink? Woodland trails along a rushing river that lead up to ruggedly beautiful craggy hills, and mountains, with neato caves man? A spectacular view from the mountain top of all the green, and lush beauty of nature with her endless forests, and mountains? I think you may already know this but I'm going to say it anyway. I hope you always let someone know where you are going and when you plan on being back. Wow, it's amazing how many landscapes mama Alaska possesses man; way cool. Wow, what a view, with that backdrop of blue mountains, it reminds me more of the Blue Ridge mountain range, or Smoky Mountains in Western North Carolina. Still , you sitting atop that rocky craig surrounded by green hills (that have more than a mere resemblance to the Scottish Highlands, ) is like totally Alaska , (from what I've seen of mama AK.) P.s. You got one beautiful life there Brooke girl! ....Cool beans.

Backpack will probably work for your hubby. Broad and bigger person for wider straps possibly. They should rethink their straps for woman hikers. But love how many compartments and the solar panel and plug in idea. Very cool.

I like my water bladder for the ease of hydrating. I don't have to stop and take my pack off to get to my water bottles. Downsides; I hate that I have to drink the water in the hose because it's warm and cleaning it is a bit of a hassle. Great video with beautiful views!

I am not a big fan of big knives myself, i prefer medium to small blades because they're more useful to me. Beautiful hike! It looked like you had the place to yourself, one of the benefits of being in Alaska. It seems every year the trails in the national parks are getting more and more congested with hordes of people. Alaskan wilderness is definitely more up my alley. 😊 When you were filling your water bottle, I noticed you weren’t wearing your bandanna. Your arm looked so bare without it and then you opened your package. Lol What beautiful knives... that little one will compliment your Barkie nicely. I was looking so forward to seeing you set up your shelter in Mongolia and the first time they show you is on Day 7. What the hell....really?!?!? I know they’re limited on time but that was ridiculous. Then make it a 2hr show because a little more detail sure would be nice. Crazy how you’re already the last woman standing. Felt so bad for the other two. I know you’re going to give it your all!

That water bladder if kept clean, can be awesome!! fill it with ice cubes, and water, and go for a hike!! I used one when I hiked a lot as a Marine.. It was nice to have !

Not a big fan of bringing my electronic devices into the woods with me, the whole point for me being to get away from those things, but I can see the use for such a pack for most folks so that's cool. Those knives are absolutely epic, at first I thought you and Dave were going to have to arm wrestle over the Puuko and I felt bad that Dave wasn't going to get to use it. ;o) So glad that Bradley thought to send one for each of you! I have visited their website and their entire collection is amazing, truly awesome gifts.

Awesome hike Brooke! Brought back memories of my hikes on the 80 and Colorado Brought back memories of my hikes on the A.T. In Colorado Rockies, thank you for letting me hike along!!! Maybe that pack was meant for a man because those chest straps are not in the right place for us women, but maybe can replace the shoulder straps and move the chest straps, just a thought.
