It would have probably sounded better with a pair of £3 lavalier mics. To me however it sounds like on top of the mic placement being poor that they have treated the audio some how; perhaps in an attempt to make it more listenable.

Essentially a plug for a book and not an interview. JOB does not ask Campbell about interventions in the Middle East and whether his view on invading Iraq has changed. There is no discussion of Gordon Brown's economic policy that ended with him throwing taxpayers' money at bank shareholders in the vain attempt to save his reputation and with defeat for Labour at the elections in 2010 and 2015. And JOB is far too well-brought up to mention Dr Kelly and the medical experts who question whether his death was suicide. Alastair Campbell is as vile a man as Dacre and with a good deal more blood on his hands.

Problem is 'Third Way Politics' is (for the time being at least) dead. 1997, that was, literally, 20 years ago. Plus you need to ask yourself why people accepted it so willingly. Remember that this was only 5-6 year after the final fall of the Soviet Union. The Economic Right had won. Yet at the same time, there had been this complete reorientation vis a vis social standards. Gender equality, racial equality, LGBT equality; these were all being seen as standard. The Tories still being stuck in the 1950's. Hence that was what New Labour offered, the economics of the New Right mixed with the social permissiveness of the New Left. What could possibly go wrong? Well here we are, a year after Brexit, still scratching our heads.

i think that you ve hit the nail on the head in more ways than one - that is where we re at but it obviously has subtle or not so subtle differences - so it s ironic that catalonia is in the news - the 3 blocks was one of orwell s ideas where communication was extremely limited - so one block was always at war with another block but no one knew what the fuck was going on with the other block - this happened in the 2nd world war of course with the different treaties between stalin hitler and churchill - communism was really popular in various places in europe in the 20th century - i don t mean this in a judgemental sense - at the end of the day i think we would be under the german flag but hitler made the mistake of opening up another front - i think that what matters is that the present day politicians are hopeless and i don t criticise readily - they don t look after the people they represent - but let s be honest criminals don t either - they represent their family - everything stinks at the moment - i think we re at a crucial stage in the world - animals and trees are irrelevant - where i come from animals and trees were part of the picture - my main point is is that we are
