I do not know how I get to this video but it's great. I'm on my balcony in Buenos Aires looking at the city and smoking weed. The internet is awesome.

Trippy! Really liked this one! M-32 is a killer bass drone machine.

It is! Especially with a little bit of evolving modulation...

Hey, i just recently got a Mother-32 and been rinsing your videos since a few days, really good job! Also, I would like to know how you achieved to get a detuned bass sounding like that? Is that only one oscillator with a fairly high resonance on the filter, or is that 2 slightly detuned osc? Thanks again for all your work!

Thank you! The bass sound here is a square wave with a modulated pulse width, which gives the detuned effect, and then the filter resonance is also quite high (check the modgrid link to see exactly what the settings are) to give a more vowel-y timbre to it.

You get some sweet sounds out of your x2 M32's. I aspire to do the same but I envy your knowledge of the patch panels. Excellent work again........

So wait... the really quick melody/arpeggio before each step on the top M32 is being produced by the delay?? Wonderful patch!

Yep! The actual sequence is only the last note of each 'arpeggio' - it's easy to hear at the start :) I'm going to be putting up a Tips n' Tricks video about it later today!

Could be an ambient techno piece with a four on the floor kick and variations of clap and cowbell at 161bpm. Are you a technician demoing patches, an artist doing ambient minimalism, an aspiring electronic musician gradually asembling a life's work... etc?

A bit of technician and a bit of musician; I started out just putting up music that didn't count as full pieces, and ended up with tutorials. I'm not aiming to make a big name for myself as an ambient producer, I just enjoy doing these patches for background music.

I like your detailed comprehension and focused intention in patching, but I feel you have the potential to build a long term set of pieces or at least patches which could become a body of work.

For some reason I enjoy making my pieces entirely with hardware, which is where the problem occurs; I don't have enough modules for a full piece. I also enjoy leaving the patches running without having to 'perform' them. It limits what I do a lot, and I could make full pieces out of them, but at this point I'm not sure that's what this channel is about. I do write 'proper' music outside this channel!

Thank goodness there is no Ableton session going on with your work. I sincerely think your "limited" modular set up is perfect, with your precise handling of patching and the nice descriptions of that. I would love to hear a few long ambient pieces released on Bandcamp from you.

Perhaps I will grow into more performance-oriented patches, or multitrack my modular, in the future! I've been listening to other artists and loving some of the stuff, it's almost tempting me to grow my setup into something larger and more powerful.
