After a few seconds I realized that it will become one of my favorites.Very evocative.Noir / Sci-fi. Good job Alastair!

Glad to hear it! You might like next week's too then. Less 'noir' and more classic 'ambient' but very sci-fi and great background music.

I feel bad sleeping 18 minutes of this. Awesome sounds.

Yes this is excellent sounding and clever and creative use of type of noises most people try to avoid. I really like this for both reasons.

I'm seriously thinking about selling my synths and other personal items just to buy two M32s because of your videos. Awesome work !

Very cool! It would be interesting to hear another undulating voice over the top of this...

Feel free to add some drums and a bass! Probably would sound pretty cool.

Two Mother 32's are awesome I know I have two also. This is absolutely fantastic.

Love these finished patches. I do however would find it very interresting to see how you patch up one of these. Basics in how to get the random self altering sequencing etc. I understand that there is several ways of doing this but i think it would be interresting to see one way of this. Thanks for great content!

Damn, I really have no excuse to not make a tutorial now... everyone seems to be asking for one.

Yes a tutorial would be most welcome

@@AlastairWilsonMusic Come back and make more Mother-32 and DFAM tutorials! Especially your thought process for creating patches with 2-3 of the machines together and more about your choices and settings for effects! :D

If Miyazaki ever makes a scifi fantasy fim, he should ask you to do the soundtrack. This is amazing.

It would be nice to hear what the two mother 32 are producing as sound whithout any effect because I only get clicks and pops following your patch.
@AlastairWilsonMusic5 жыл бұрын
The majority of the sound of this patch (and indeed, most of my patches) comes from the reverb and delay so unless you have the same pedals, you won't get the exact same sound - as for the patching of the M32s, it's mainly clicks and pops, but if you are careful with the resonance of the filters you can drive them into self-oscillation (which is where the tonal sounds come from in the patch). You could also be a bit more lenient with the mix controls than I was and set it slightly more towards the oscillators than I did to get some more tonal stuff! Try putting whatever reverbs and delays you have on the patch, with high feedbacks and delay times, and see whether you get close!

@@AlastairWilsonMusic I have two modules that allow me to play with reverbs and delays but for the moment I am far from your result.
@AlastairWilsonMusic5 жыл бұрын
Without any more information, all I can do is recommend you check that you've set the Assign outputs to stepped random voltages, and play around with your reverb/delay settings. Even if you can't exactly recreate this video, you might find something equally interesting in the process.
@talweg3845 жыл бұрын
@@AlastairWilsonMusic yes thank you for your answer. I am using an echophon and an erbe verb. Still a lot to learn. The assign outputs have been both set to random. I am trying to get closer to your result.
