Yup. As a South African the influence on the beats is easy to spot coz we have a whole genre that strictly sounds like this. Same with some of the dances. Plus they said it was a blend of both S.African and S.Korean sounds

In Korea, you cannot celebrate the mid-autumn festival without thinking about the Moon Rabbit. The Moon Rabbit has become a symbol for this special holiday. The folklore of the Moon Rabbit is not only a story in Korea but also a popular story all across Asia. Although most parts of Asia know of the story of the Moon Rabbit, each part region has their own version of the story but today, i’ll only go over the Korean version of the story. The story goes that the Rabbit once lived in a village along side a Fox and a Monkey. The three of them devoted themselves to Buddhism and spent most of their time studying and practicing. The Emperor of the Heavens asked them to bring him food to test their faith. The Fox decided to catch a fish and the Monkey decided to bring him fruits. The Rabbit on the other hand, could not find anything but grass so the Rabbit decided to jump into a fire to offer himself up. The Emperor was touched by this act of commitment so he appoint the Rabbit as the guardian of the moon. Although different cultures have a different variations of the story, the actions of the Rabbit remains consistent. in general, rabbits are reflections of growth, rebirth, awareness, harmony, abundance, creativity, fertility, vulnerability, and Mother Earth’s changing seasons. So Nestor is a powerful way-shower of these energies, as we kick start this new month of February possibilities and leap into the energies available. The White rabbit represents the hollow. And hollow defines emptiness and the opportunity to be filled the first part of the music video there are several scenes including, rather large amounts of giraffes. I did a little bit of research about the animal’s symbolism and it’s spiritual meaning. The most obvious feature about the giraffe is its long neck. It has many functions. Symbolically, this feature is about raising our standards. It’s about elevating our vision. Just like bangtan, who achieved remarkable things and are going higher and higher. Creating a higher view to see your goals more clearly. the giraffe spirit animal symbolizes self-acceptance and self-love. The giraffe is proud of its appearance and knows that it is truly unique in the world. White tigers symbolize whatever the eye of the beholder wants them to symbolize- rarity, beauty, power. The sacred White Tiger aligns us with our unique inner power. Due to its lack of pigment or rare genetic make-up, the white tiger is a great example of how often we must choose a path in life that is not safe or ‘normal’. It is in this birthright that we must honour what we are gifted with and continue to carry on sharing our message and living our lives how we dream it. And i think that’s exactly what the lyrics of ’IDOL’ are telling at that scene. fourth and last subject i wanted to touch was one of the last scenes of the music video. As you can see on the picture we see bangtan being stuck in a transparent room, all eyes on them. In fact, their true selves looking at their ’idol roles’.Even if they can’t do anything they’re stuck in this k-pop industry where everything you do has to be perfect. Everyone is watching your every move, for bangtan more than ever as they are gaining more and more deserved attention. Once again to prove my point, the lights are on them, the room is glass, all eyes are on them. And no matter how hard they try they aren’t allowed to be fully themselves in front of cameras.
