@Calichris2 it's not as easy for Canadians to stay long-term without getting additional papers/documents, but people that have a USA passport can still 12 months! 👍

@Calichris2 absolutely! When we were in Durres (because that's where we spent the most time) it was very easy and had access to everything in 5 minutes. It was great

Guys, the street from Berat to Gjirokaster is not done yet. As far as I know, the work has started it, but it will take some time until they finish it.

There are no ottoman homes in Berat. This is traditional albanian architecture.

Google lied, but everything i researched called them that? 🥲 "The historic centres of Berat and Gjirokastra, located in central and southern Albania, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005, thanks to the valuable presence of several remarkable examples of Ottoman-styled houses, and to the integrity of their vernacul ar urban landscape."

@@wattstraveling UNESCO declaration only says that These towns are preserved since ottoman times, which doesnt say anything about the architecture. Fact is that there isnt such thing as ottoman architecture, because turks came from a asiatic nomadic tent culture. You think that turks brought any archticture to thousands years old metropole of constantinople/byzanz? Some journalists and vloggers started this misinformation about Berat and Gjirokaster and people keep on spreading it. Now its nearly imposible to correct that.

@adrianog4148 it's hard to get ALL historical information correct when all you have is the internet research to go by when doing research about a place you've never been, which you think would be accurate 🙃 thanks for sharing! 👍

@@gilbertvigani3697 sure. I know these kind of 'albanians'.. kzbin.infoPcv4pHQdm_0?si=ZSY-Lvs67P6LqwmB In this documentary about Berat they didnt mention ottoman architecture a single Time, because you cant find a another example of Berat in turkey. Gjirokaster the same.

For your knowledge...... Berat is over 2000 years old with lots of history. The castle existed before the Turks came. Its not a ottoman town! Ottmans have left their influences. The architecture is a mixture of the local and ottoman architecture. There is lots of misinformation going around about Albania. Turkey, Greece and some Arab countries invested in Albania in schools, infrastructure etc. In exchange for that Albania is presenting officially his most visited sides as a foreign as they did not have money to restore this towns/ culture sides on their own. Albania is still a poor country and many surrounding neighbours are taking advantage of that! There is nothing like an ottoman or greek town existing in Albanien! Albanians are very tolerant and have been influenced by differnt cutures! 🙏♥️✝️
