I moved to Albany in 1994 as a embattled REFUGEE from FRESNO CALIFORNIA, i love this area i will never leave!! Best to me is we are about 1 hour drive from Portland, Eugene, Cascade national Forest,Desert in eastern oregon, Newport Beach, 30 min from Salem & anytime I've needed a jumpstart or any assistance i always get multiple locals stopping to help out any way possible. The first year i ran out of gas & an elderly man stopped & took me to a gas station & he INSISTED on paying for a new gas can and 5 gallons of gas!!! I'm a grown ass MAN; you Would get beat up and robbed if anyone even stopped in Fresno. Women get help all the time but this is just how people are here. I even got the rest of my family to leave San Francisco and they sold a 4 bedroom house for $1.5 million & came & bought 3 nice homes & still had $340,000 to live on

I had a friend tell me that there is a stinky paper mill nearby, is that true?
@NightBazaar3 жыл бұрын
It stood abandoned for quite a while, but was ultimately torn down a good number of years ago. A routine joke driving along I-5 was that you could tell from the stink that you were close to Albany. And of course, a more typical joke as you drove by it, was to ask, " Eww! Did you fart?"

Used to wake up to go to college & the entire town smelled like dirty gym socks!!😰 not an issue now that paper mill is long gone

Literally almost non existent, few tweekers breaking into cars or shoplifting maybe; drug scene isn't as bad as it used to be. But almost 0 violent crimes

@@jodymckane6690 you are clearly confused; or you are trying to scale away the masses of refugees from California from moving here. But your post is wholly inaccurate & deceptive
